Most places do use blanks nowadays - its been a while, but I think only hard core such as marines still use 'live' ammo for a salute and only in special circumstances xx.

An interesting thing about uh... "the american mindset" is that no tragedy or a historic event, no matter how big or small, happens for the most obvious reason.

Kurt Cobain didn't off himself, it was his wife that did it. Elvis obviously didn't die of prescription drug abuse and generally letting himself go, it was the FBI and he didn't even die as it was all faked, he is now in Vegas. I'm not sure who killed Marilyn Monroe but no doubt she was connected and perhaps the FBI disposed of him. It's also obvious the CIA and/or the mafia offed JFK. The moon landings were obviously faked, and Obama is a muslim who was born in Africa and he is now plotting for muslim world dominance through his position as he is just that, a muslim. He does this because he is bitter about the holocaust which by the way, didn't apparently happen as that is faked too.

It doesn't seem very suprising some people would advocate crazy theories on the internet where some nutjob makes videos blaming things on the jews and the UN shadow government. Oh, and the reptilians too. Obama is one of them.

But when their argument revolves around the towers being demolished by 'nano thermite' which is, apparently, so new and secret that no-one outside of the military top brass knows of it's existance (except for the conspiracy theorists, of course)

Ignoring the work needed to install this stuff, (hundreds of workers, hundreds of hours, and some major structural work, as the girders aren't just there, they're behind wall dressing, etc work which no-one recalls happening.

Yet ignoring a demonstration that a girder will buckle quite quickly if you burn a bucket of gasoline under it, you have to wonder if its because they want to believe, regardless. (Like religion and MMGW evangelists)

I like the zeitgeist stance on what they say. They want the viewer to make up their own mind but someof the evidence they presented was compelling because I remembered some of the things they brought up and if the "script" was out of sync to the events actually occuring then it does suggest something isnt right.

One thing you can bank on with humans is the occasional fuck up and that is where the real truths are revealed.

I still dont understand why the Bin laden family was flown outof the US within hours of 9/11 when if it was some atrocity we did the enemy would be executing family members every half hour until the the bad guy gave himself up.

Plus I dont understand why the night before WTC came down why all the emergency services had to be on full standby which suggests that someone knew something was going to happen.

In other words NYC wasnt entirely caughty with its pants down and I do believe the theory that the CIA allowed it to happen to help create the fear and control necessary to facilitate this war on terror.

I really dont think this was just straightforward terrorism

They didn't fly a few hours after. No one did. This has been debunked. They did fly after the airspace was opened, which is nothing unusual. Hell, if I carried the name Bin Laden, I'd fly the fuck out ASAP too. Most of them were interrogated before the flight too.

Have to agree that some things didnt stack up right - but the emergency services being on standby the night before is probably as a result of some form of communication saying that something nasty might happen in NY - if you cast your mind back to the IRA bombings in the uk , our emergency services were pretty much always on regular alert status , the only difference between us and the yanks is that we tend to let everybody know what we are doing and why - where as they play a lot of things much closer to thier chests and it only comes out later that somebody somewhere was warned in some way - giving the conspiracy theorists ammo all the time.

You might remember a few years ago a child was hurt or killed when some soldiers putting on a display for the public accidentally fired off live ammo. It might have been Spain or Italy. As far as I know, I think blanks are used for ceremonial salutes, except if the visiting dignitary is particularly unpopular.

Anyway, I once heard one of those 'pop scientists' on the radio answering the question about what happens when bullets fired straight up come down. I think the answer was that they would be much slower simply falling than they'd be after being fired but that they'd still hurt if they landed on you.

I think the big lie was when they built up Bin Laden and his small group of murderers into a "global terrorist threat" and used it as an excuse for never-ending war.

Bin Laden NEVER had major support, maybe a couple of hundred followers, but Donald Rumsfeld "estimated" 100,000 in Al Qaida. Based on that lie, wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and now Somalia, Yemen, the Phillippines and more are all being justified.

Sadly Obama has kept the big lie going - probably he has no choice though.

Just as big a load of bollocks is the "no plane at the Pentagon" theory. Leaving aside all the eyewitnesses who actually SAW an airliner hit the building (who, the CT-ers simply claim, must all have been mistaken / hallucinating / in on it as well) and the airliner wreckage in the building (which was all supposedly somehow planted there without anyone noticing), that idea fails the very first common sense test, i.e. if you want the world to BELIEVE that an airliner crashed into the Pentagon, then surely the best way to achieve that is to CRASH AN AIRLINER into the Pentagon, no? Especially as you've just quite brazenly crashed two into the Towers so you're clearly not shy about crashing airliners into large buildings.

Problem is that some clown cooks up these ideas on the Internet, injects a bit of pseudo-scienctific patter into it and hey presto, you've got yourself a "plausible" conspiracy theory and it's follow the piper.
