They played well, Snowy. Your cup final is this Sunday, though, isn't it?
Tell me, as a Liverpool fan: given the choice would you take the Europa cup or deny Man Utd their 19th crown by winning this weekend at OT?

WELL, first of all, Sam, today wasn't our "cup final" at all.
Yes, I loathe that lot from down the other end of the East Lancs Road - and have done for the best part of four decades. I am old enough to remember the glorious 1973-74 season when we won the FA Cup and the mighty Red Devils were sent packing into the Second Division.
Of course, times have changed and since the 1990s they've ruled the roost. In an ideal world for Reds fans, a win at the Theatre of Screams today denying them the title would have been great, but with eight games to go, that was never going to be certain.
Pundits can go on and on about Liverpool being an average team without Torres and Gerrard, but without Rooney, the Mancs would be struggling too. EVERYTHING revolves around him for them. Funny how they like that one particular Scouser, isn't it?!
Yes, we've had a crap season - and it could well be Rafa's last here, but there's no way we're going to get a top drawer boss while we're still owned by Laurel and Hardy. No top manager would be seen within a mile of Anfield with those two clowns still there fucking everything up.
We could still end up with the Europa League too - our ninth European title (compared with four for the Mancs BTW).
What I'm also hoping for though, is the Arse to win the title thus denying "them" the four in a row, a record-breaking 19th championship and seeing that smug bastard Fergie on TV (so long as it's not the BBC).
Walk On... !footie!

So Man Utd are a bit shit and they'd be nowhere without Rooney? You might be right but I heard that said about Ronaldo numerous times over the last 3 years. Really it's just something supporters say about teams that are better than them. I mean, let's be honest, only Torres would get in the Man Utd side........maybe Reina when VDS retires.
Agree with you about the American owners. Them fighting between themselves hardly helps things but Benitez has had the money and inherited a decent team (it was Houllier's team they won the CL with after all).
Isn't it something crazy like 76 signings in 5 years that he's made? He's hardly improved the team at all. Results-wise they've improved but they're not pretty to watch and all their good play comes from long balls pumped up to Torres (a bit like Chelsea with Drogba). Arsenal and Man Utd have much more variety and I hope it's one of these two that win it (preferring Man Utd due to northern bias).
You're right about Liverpool's record in Europe. No other English team can boast such a record. Still, maybe some teams might have won more if Liverpool didn't get us all banned for 5 years, eh?

The 5 year ban really didnt impact the most likely team who could have become the equal of Liverpool in Europe over the past 2 decades
Manchester United
Even ferguson admitted they under achieved in Europe while being dominant in the EPL
