Unusual sights

Post by Dick Moby »

At work this afternoon two of us watched a stoat (still in his white winter coat) being chased by a rabbit. This was just after we saw a bird having a go at him.
The birds are just starting to nest and possibly the rabbit had young nearby but I never thought I'd see this.
I've seen the stoats hunting and one turned on a workmate who tried to scare it away from a young rabbit ------ the workmate took to his heels. Stoats can be quite bold .

Interesting. I saw a redpoll in the garden for the first time today. A connection with the landscape and wildlife is very important to me personally.

Cheers

Years ago when I had my flat in Raynes Park next to the David Lloyd Tennis Centre I heard this commotion going on in one of the trees opposite my window. Upon looking out of the window I saw the amazing sight of two grey squirrels being chased/stalked by two magpies who in turn were being chased/stalked by three cats. For a good 5 minutes it was facinating watching the interaction between all of them going up down this one tree and what made it worse for me was all my camera batteries were bloody flat so I couldn't record any of it.
