Yes. He's off the streets and paying for a terrible crime. Is prison enough? For some it isn't. Death or a lifetime of torture......none of it will bring back the little girls he killed so I see no point in either.

I agree that there is no way to bring the girls back but while this man is alive there is always a chance he will get out and then -------- who knows ?

Would I pull the trap door to deliver Huntley to another place? I would consider it an honour. At times like this I just remember the victims and their families.I have fewer concerns for the rights of Huntley or his family.I say again ....one of those little girls watched as he throttled her best friend. Can you imagine the fear? Then he went back after dumping the bodies and put petrol on them to cover his tracks. If he was hanged drawn and quartered it would not be too much...all the bleaters here should get with the real world.

Meanwhile, some 90 year old war veteran is getting chucked out of his home because he can't pay the inflated rent any longer. Does the Government help him? And do the hand-wringers care? Not any sign of it. Only philistines care about good people and the intellectual elite enjoy showing how enlightened they are by supporting unpopular causes. They got to be unpopular for a reason by the way, but they haven't got to that page yet.

Agreed, but we can't go around killing people for what might happen.

Re: Reasons to be cheerful..
Very true, so I'd kill him for what has already happened.

Re: Reasons to be cheerful..
Then we're back to my original point to you: what would be the point since it won't bring back those girls?

Re: Reasons to be cheerful..
Nothing can bring back those girls so we agree on that. I would rather see him killed so that whatever happens (severe prison over crowding, parole ,official pardon or any other reason) he can no longer be a danger. He does not deserve to live and certainly not when massive funds must be spent to keep him alive. Since he already tried to commit suicide, who are we to deny his wishes ?. Surely you must agree with that.

If he gets out of prison due to escape or other reasons then it's the system that is at fault in some way. We cannot kill him 'just in case'. That's the logic of a barbaric and backward society imho.

Sam,
Why are you so set against revenge? We are animals and we have been getting revenge for foul acts for ever. What loss would Huntley be?I suppose you think the Final Solution should have been punished by people being locked up until they died? There is nothing barbaric at sending out a message that some things deserve the ultimate sanction and sadistic killing should be one.It may not matter in the big picture and we know that people would still do it but it would matter to Huntley and his ilk.The perfect system has not been invented but one that lets Huntley watch Sky and choose his meals from a menu ain't it!
