Right to buy was and is for council tenants who had paid rent on a property for a minimum of one year, I think. Are you seriously suggesting you should have been allowed, as a private tenant, to buy a flat you'd never lived in or paid rent on that was in the social housing sector?
As for benefit scroungers who choose to live off the taxpayer and not work, don't fall for the hype. There are very very few of them and if you think about it, nobody would choose to live on ?60 a week JSA. It's a myth.
The problem is not people who choose to live on benefits, it's those who are in jobs who milk the system by either fiddling and claiming JSA while working, or who have another fiddle going in housing benefit or who claim tax credits and low income benefits they're not entitled to. Even then, do you know how many benefit cheats have been convicted three times (a key Tory welfare policy is to deny benefit to claimants who have been caught three times) there have been? Ever? None. Zero.
There were something 60 people last year who were convicted for a second time.
The idea that there are vast armies of chavs who live on ?60 a week, can still afford to drink and do drugs all day AND afford to pay the same gas, electricity and water bills as all of us (they're not discounted because you're poor, you actually end up paying more for utilities because they give you loaded easy payment schemes or pre-pay meters) let alone food bills as well, is a joke.
I know it is easy to fall for the bullshit, but the problem of welfare "scroungers" is tiny and it costs more to track and chase down the few who do this (cheat the system) than they will ever save.
By the way, the amount of dodgy expenses creamed off the taxpayer by MPs in the recent scandal was enough to keep one Incapacity Benefit claimant in benefits for 100 years.
British jobs for british workers
I wish there was an edit function on here
I made a couple of typos there and at least a couple of sentences read like bollocks.
Ok, so the whole thing does :-p

Re: British jobs for british workers
I gave up my last job, and the UK, because of the lazy British 'workers'.
I used to work for a training centre, dealing with New Dealers sent to us by the jobcentre. Most of them had stated on their agreements that they wanted to do Warehousing Work, of which there were quite a few in the city that I was working in. Every day, jobs were brought to my classroom, which I read out to the class, or left on the table for them to read, which didn't happen too often, or at best, they got a quick glance.
Believe me, if I had a pound for every time I heard: "Can't get a job because of the Polish, etc." I would be pretty well off now.
What did it for me was one day last year, I read out a job (to twenty white British so-called workers, no Poles) paying seven pound an hour for unskilled, unqualified, inexperienced work. Full training will be given, including getting you through a fork-lift licence. The hours were Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Must have a positive approach to work, etc. About 5 miles from the city centre. Nearly 300 pound a week, plus training!!!
This job would have suited any of the idiots in my classroom.
After reading it out they looked at me as if I was from another planet, when I eventually did get some grunts for replies, it was "Fuck that, it's too far." This resulted in me throwing the cards across the room, and my eventually quitting because I realised I was fighting a losing battle.
So if these twenty people don't want a job like that, despite having agreed to do so on their jobseekers contract, who can blame an employer for taking on a Pole who's willing to travel 500 miles to take it when our lot can't be bothered going 5 miles? Believe me, this was not an isolated case.
I am now working in Poland, and believe me, I don't regret it one bit. It's a real pleasure working with intelligent, hardworking people, who can speak 2 or 3 languages, and would give their little finger to earn 5 pound an hour, never mind, seven.
In the six months of living here, I've only met two unemployed people (one of whom has now got a job). It's because they don't make a career from it, like the 'British workers' who are always ready to blame other people.

It's a pity you couldn't get some Pole to type out your post. He'd no doubt have a better grasp of punctuation and sentence construction.
I used to spend a lot of time criticizing Islam on here in the noughties - but things are much better now.
Re: Boys Boys please...
The main thing to remember is that I am alright. I am wealthy, can live where I want, and have a great life, so dont worry so much, jesus, you'll give yourself a heart attack.
So!, just to recap....I am alright, I am pulling up the ladder as I type jack...

Re: main weakness of capitalism
hate to say it but it brings the main wakness of capitalism to the surface
Namely that is profits have to continue to grow more than last year for ever
I can see a future where wages are eroded away to the point where these companies going offshore will be importing goods very few will buy because they wont have the spare cash and the whole system will fold like house of cards
Australia has a raft of businesses that want to bring in skilled labour from
over seas but their told they can only bring them in
IF they cant find a local to do the job
2. They have to pay them the same rate they'd pay a local
Of course there are business cowboys who flaunt the law and pay below the award wage level or rip the overseas worker off by charging extortionate levels for giving thme the job...I've seen some overseas workers who are doing little more than working to payoff the plane fee, accomodation & food supplied by the business who brought them in.
When their caught they get fined more than they would have saved so its a bit stupid even trying
The upshot is businesses simply leave and go overseas where there are no restrictions on the cost of labour and we get the product back in as an import not surpisingly NO CHEAPER than it was before
Profiteering at its worst

Indeed Jim. I fully understand your rant, I was of course being facetious. Only a cretin would vote for 5 more years of this current shower of cunts.
But as you know mate, there are plenty of them about..
