Dont you just love watching politicians squirm.
Good old G Brown made himself look a right idiot with his bigot comment.
It just goes to shows you how he looks at us ordinary common people....... as nobodies.
Squirming Brown
Re: Squirming Brown
And so do all the others, the difference is Sky News don't broadcast their off the record remarks because... well... they're not in the business of damaging Cameron, are they?
Ignore the bullshit and concentrate on the issues.
In the last parliament, the Tories voted
Against the reduction in VAT to stimulate demand.
Against the Business Payment Support Service allowing over 160,000 struggling businesses to delay tax payments.
Against the Enterprise Guarantee Scheme which has helped almost 9,000 businesses access finance.
Against the car scrappage scheme which has helped the sale of 400,000 vehicles.
Against the Strategic Investment Fund worth ?1 billion to develop the UK?s industrial strength.
They were also against the public ownership of Northern Rock, which has broken into profit far sooner than anyone thought, although Ken Clarke now says they were right to invest in the bank rather than let it go under and take people's savings with it.
Against measures to control our borders, including tougher penalties for those who smuggle people in, and measures to streamline the immigration appeals system.
Against the banning of handguns.
Against five-year minimum sentences for carrying an illegal firearm.
Against allowing new trials for murder if new evidence emerges.
Against tougher measures to fight terrorism.
Against the right to request flexible working for workers with children.
Against the minimum wage.
Against introducing paternity leave and against increasing maternity leave.
Against the recent Electoral Reform Bill passed by the Government to allow a referendum on the Alternative Vote system.
Against legislation to stop discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation
Against legislation to stop discrimination against older people.
Against measures to help families and pensioners through the recession, including the 2009 ?60 bonus, and the trebling of cold-weather payments for the elderly.
Against devolution in Scotland and Wales.
Against the Planning Bill, which is paving the way for investment in low-carbon energy

Great stuff!
Its always good to see posts which show that the parties are not all the same and it does actually matter who you vote for. And supporters of the Lib Dems should consider that they might end up propping up Cameron and his shower in government.
The BBC Lunchtime News started with the Brown bigot story. As if there is absolutely no more important issue in this election to report. Incredible!
Cheers

Re: Squirming Brown
One of the funniest moments thus far in the election. Without feeling
sorry for Brown or any politician one can at least sympathize. The old
gal he talked to was clearly an irritating old biddy, GB simply said what
was on his mind, forgot his mike was on - and put his foot again into
the Poo !!
As a human being who has fucked up many a time and put my foot too
in the brown stuff, I just love to see that even the high and mighty are
as dumb as me !

Re: Squirming Brown
Brown was absolutely correct... she was a bigoted old biddy, as one of her complaints was about "all these immigrants from Eastern Europe"
Well Mrs Duffy, if it wasn't for all those immigrants from Eastern Europe and elsewhere working for fuck all in fields, abattoirs and packing factories you wouldn't be able to get your "2 for ?5" chickens, or 2.5kg of potatoes for under a pound at ASDA, Lidl or Tescos
How many gaffes has Cameron made when still wearing a Sky News mic that have been hushed up? Probably dozens, but we'll never get to hear those!
Brown should never have squirmed and should never have apologised to her. Instead he should have explained exactly WHY she was bigoted, along the lines I've set out above.

No it doesn't. He thought this specific person was a bigot.
If you go into a pub, hear a bloke at the bar and think that guy is a pillock, does that mean you must think everyone in the town is a pillock? Eh?

Absolutely not, but it's a fact that underpaid immigrant labour is what keeps the shopping bills of Mrs Duffy so low. She wants to get rid of all the immigrants, but she'd soon be yelling bloody murder when her local supermarket has to put up all its prices!
