Ken Loach Films now on Youtube ...

Post by crofter »

here we go folks, all his films will be added it seems

PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

I didn't know you were a communist. You've gone up in my estimation.

Ahh, Kes, filmed where I live. Thats my local chippy at the end of the film.

And anyone who ever had a PE (for PE read football) lesson with Mr Hallam knows exactly where Barry Hines, (who was a teacher at my school) got the idea for the Brian Glover character from!
We have need of you again, great king.

One of the great british directors. Probably never really got the respect he deserved purely because of his poitics. Does what Mike Leigh does without the snobbery.

Arguably Leigh's films aren't inherently snobbish. That's a quality attributed to them by yourself and others who think similarly.

Neither Loach or Leigh do much for me, but Loach at least looks at the bigger picture.

Too much of Leigh's work is about pettiness and reduction for me, an outlook that is almost anti life. Dead people leading dead lives in dead space to dead time, as one critic noted.
