First the Guardian...

Post by Sam Slater »

...and now the Independent have aligned themselves with the Liberal Democrats:

You know that even when the Independent stop being...errr....independent then there must be something in David Cameron and his party that they can't stomach. I expected the Guardian switching, but not the TI. I think its a reasonable objective piece and I say good on 'em!

They've fallen for the Clegg hype about getting the voting system changed. It won't change. He'll do the deal with the Tories if the election ends in a hung parliament, and the Tories will never give up first past the post. They have said so repeatedly and the party won't let Cameron do it even if he wanted to, which he doesn't.

Honestly, a vote for Clegg will get this country nowhere.

No shocks there, The Independent has no opinion on anything, a paper for the ditherers and wasters of this planet who talk a lot a take no action.

Ah...'fallen for the hype'. I thought it was the media that created the hype, not fall for it?

I'd rather have Clegg putting pressure on Tory policy within a coalition than have the Tories in undiluted. I'd prefer a Lab/Lib coalition of course but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I could be wrong.
