Facebook is filled with kids and semi-literates who fink txt spk iz da bombz!!!! I would no more trust a Facebook poll result than any other.

But those kids don't write English essays and science projects in text speak. They flip between the two depending on who they're talking to. They could be considered bilingual and there's evidence that this skill actually improves their understanding of language and makes it easier for them to learn other languages.

And lets be honest, there are plenty of adults who're semi-literate and allowed to vote. That's why we might get a Tory majority in several hours.
