I wonder if these fools realise what they've signed up to?
There's going to be a referendum on PR, which the Tories will oppose and which Labour will most likely oppose. The Lib Dems are now stuck with being a rump party fighting a lone campaign for PR and it's a campaign they will lose.
When the Tories no longer need them, they will cherry pick the people they think are of use for their own party (Clegg and possibly that horrid cunt of an education spokesman) and the rest will be consigned to the dustbin.
They have nothing to offer the left politically, because they've taken the most privileged, silver spoon Tories possible and put them into power. They've done a deal with a party staggeringly out of step on Europe and given them their support. They have basically turned their backs on their core support and left Labour to proclaim themselves the saviours of the left.
Losing this election could have saved Labour. It has definitely killed the Lib Dems and good riddance to the cunts. It's just a shame it will take a couple of years for their party to crumble and vanish.

Let me summarise your view.
It's all Labour's fault. I heard some Labour MPs speak against electoral reform and doing a deal with the Lib Dems. So what they said must be true.
To paraphrase your views "So all the things I said about the Lib Dems and Tory deal are now completely invalid. Although I said I wanted Cleggie to stick AV up Cameron's arse, I now want Cleggie to stick it up my arse".
You wont be able to use this argument when Clegg is standing up at Prime Minister Questions defending the government's swingeing cuts and weirdo foreign policy whilst Dynamite Dave is off in Europe meeting the "homophobes and anti-semite nutters that the Tories are allgned to in Europe" according to Nick Clegg.
Your humiliation on this topic appears to be complete. Sam, stop digging!
Cheers

All bollocks. You can see it as support but many would prefer a REAL progressive party diluting Tory policies rather than leaving the Tories 'neat'.
Labour supporters are in denial if they think their party has done the right thing in backing away from PR. They're obviously too embarrassed to admit their party is just as much part of the establishment as the Tories, these days. Clegg is just the most convenient scape-goat. Not that they'll admit it.
the Blessed Cleggie following the diktat of cabinet responsibility, will defend all the swingeing cuts and weirdo foreign policy of the government at Prime Minister Questions.
Where is your evidence for this? Those swinging cuts and 'weirdo foreign policies' might not be so 'weirdo' and 'swinging' now the Lib Dems have some say in it all (however minor).

Since when has saving your own skin above serving the people being a 'leftie' thing to do?
Labour want to keep the status quo of playing the Conservatives at pass the parcel with our government. Hardly progressive; hardly radical; very conservative.

There was an election commitment in the Labour manifesto to a referendum on av. There is a commitment from the Tories to a referendum on av.
So the Lib Dems end up going with the Tories.
If you genuinely want to join a centre left party, I am sure your local Labour party will be a safe home for you away from the Lib Dems.
At least your face wont be eaten off to use your own description of your hatred of the Tories.
Cheers

Complete joke
What is progressive about letting the Tories have full control of the benefit system?
What is progressive about LOSING THE ARGUMENT on PR and being the only party remotely interested in it?
What is progressive about keeping Trident but having some meaningless bullshit about Lib Dems looking at alternatives, when they know full well there aren't any?
What's progressive about joining up with a party who had a document written just last week which proclaimed a new approach to Europe, which includes repatriating sections of the social chapter, securing border controls etc?
What's progressive about accepting the cap on immigration?
The only people who are fooling themselves are the Lib Dems who think they're suddenly a new force in politics. They are a mathematical convenience and will be of no use whatsoever in the future. Face it. They've abandoned everything they stand for.

The Lib Dems campaigned that ?6 million of extra cuts by the Tories in this year would cause a double dip recession. They agreed with Labour on this topic.
According to a number of Conservative and Lib Dem sources this evening, that opposition has been dropped and the cuts will go ahead this year. This is a FUNDAMENTAL issue at the heart of avoiding a double dip recession.
Secondly there is no compromise whatsoever on Tory foreign policy, again according to political sources this evening.
By the way, the policy on amnesty on immigrants which was one of the reasons why you said you voted Lib Dems has been kicked into touch by the COnservatives.
