That's a shame. The only thing I ever heard about this guy was when he became lead singer of Black Sabbath and the problems he and Bill Ward, Sabbath's drummer, had with each other. Bill Ward could not cope with the loss of Ozzy Osbourne as the singer and he didn't get on with Ronnie Dio at all. It more or less drove Ward mad and one night after a gig he mumbled all kinds of gibberish to Geezer Butler, Sabbath's bassist, and then walked out. He lived as a homeless down-and-out for ages. When the original Sabbath, with Ozzy back as the singer, reformed it made Ward's day. I wonder how he feels having heard this news.

A brilliant singer and front man. His vocal performance on Rainbow's "Stargazer" is one of the finest in Rock's history.

a big shame and will be missed. Ronnie has been one of rocks top singers for decades. I first saw him in concert in 1985 and last saw him last year, he was as good back then as he was last year.

That's sad to hear. He came across as being an ok guy in interviews. Always preferred Dio Sabbath to Ozzy.

Met him and his band when they toured the Holy Diver album, and they were all great blokes, no pretenciousness or bollocks about them at all. Couldn't believe such a small bloke had such powerful lungs!
Then you get cunts like Phil Collins who looks down his nose at anyone
