So to sum up:
Fat cunts should pay more?
Why didnt you say that in the first place?
Ok I see that obese people on planes annoy you but in tthis the mentality of our government where we get taxed for everything already?
Im sure that fat people are charged twice if they take up too much space already so this should make you happy at least.
But what about a skinny tax too? You cant have one and not another. Some people cant help being fat due to medications and what not. its not always because they are greedy guts. This is why its ethically wrong.

I don't fully subscribe to the idea in the original post, but it does seem a radical approach needs to be taken to stop us turning (even further) into a nation of lard asses. "Just say no (to cake)" style campaigns haven't got us very far to date. Except to make us crave more cake. Maybe those ads are secretly funded by Mr Kipling?
I do accept OEJ's point that some find themselves rotund by way of a medical condition, but the vast majority of obese people find themselves that way from consumption of pies and pints, not pills.
Societal norms exist in terms of how we treat each other, how we interact with our environment and how we behave and conduct ourselves. Should there be an equivalent norm for respecting our bodies to that extent that we don't make ourselves obese?
Food for thought.

Its not a question of taxes as someone pointed out, and the vasy majority of obsesity is self inflicted, the percentage of obese cases linked to genes/metabolic issues is quite low compared to overall figures.
2 arguments, 1.there is enough information out there now for people to know that eating chips/coke/burgers 24/7 is not good for you and will threaten your health, ok so we live in a society of choice but how about choosing not to eat crap all the time, I manage it ok.
2. On the other hand Society/government knows that all the crap fatties are eating is bad for you so why not ban it. Would the country truly suffer if turkey twizzlers vanished forever, probably not.
Back to the original post, I sympathise that quite often if you are 2kg over your allocated allowance you have to pay for it, meanwhile the 20 stoner behind you with 1 underweight bag isn't charged extra despite the fact the whole idea of allowances and charging is calculated based on addtional fuel cost for the extra weight.
So I agree, it should be an overall weight allowance for person and bag.
And if thats unfair to a few, ie the genuinely afflicted then apologies, but then life is unfair.
