A porn movie actor suspected of killing a co-star and injuring two others with a samurai sword has gone on the run in California. According to Los Angeles police, Stephen Hill, a 34-year-old who acted in fetish films under the name Steve Driver, stabbed fellow actor Herbert Wong with the weapon which was being used as a film prop.

Wong, whose screen name was Tom Dong, died later from a torso wound. Two other colleagues were attacked when they came to Tom Dong's aid but they are expected to make a full recovery.

The attack on Tuesday night happened at studios owned by Ultima DVD, an adult film production company in San Fernando, also known as 'Porn Valley' for the number of adult movie producers working in the area. Hill then went on the run with the samurai sword and is now the focus of a manhunt around the Los Angeles Basin area.

Hill is thought to have been living for several months in one of Ultima's studios before being asked to move out last week. Some reports said the porn star - who starred in a number of fetish films where the cast was required to hurt each other - was about to be fired for "inappropriate conduct".

LAPD detective Joel Price told reporters: "Hill wasn't performing up to standards and few weeks ago he was told he would have to leave." He added: "[Ultima] weren't happy with his product and he had been given a date of June 2 to leave... He knew [Tuesday] was the day he had to be gone."

Meanwhile Los Angeles police have been forced to clarify that the man they are seeking is not the Caucasian porn star Steve Hill but an African American adult entertainment actor with the same name.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Stephen Hill has a history of violence. In 1999 he allegedly threatened to shoot dead one of his college instructors for not giving him an A-grade. Hill reportedly told the University of Maryland instructor that he was "a mobster and would dismember the instructor's body if he didn't get the grade".

Stephen Clancy Hill was seen on television moving to the edge of the outcropping from a seated position and then letting himself drop as police closed in on him.

SWAT officers had spent part of Saturday afternoon trying to talk Hill down from the hillside as he clutched a sword.

It was unknown whether the sword was the murder weapon in Tuesday's deadly attack at a DVD production centre that also left two people injured.

Hill, 34, fled to the hillside after leaving a house where he was barricaded for most of Saturday.

Murder and attempted murder charges had been filed against Hill on Friday after Eric Jover, who runs the Ultima DVD production house, offered a $2,000 reward on the company's website for information leading to his arrest.

Hill attacked a colleague with a sword that was used as a film prop during a social gathering at Ultima's studios about a week after being told he was being fired and that he would have to move out of the production facility, where he had been living, authorities said.

He then turned on two others who rushed to their co-worker's defence. One of those who attempted to help, Herbert Hin Wong, 30, was killed in the attack.

Hill, whose professional name is Steve Driver, fled in an SUV with the murder weapon, authorities said.

Ultima is located in the San Fernando Valley, known in the adult film industry as Porn Valley for its large number of porn businesses. The small company produces niche films featuring fetishes and sexual domination of men.

Hill was convicted of second-degree assault and a handgun charge in March 1999 in Maryland, according to court records.

I watched him in a fuck team five movie, he seemed kind of weird.

The uncut video is on Fox News and it's quite odd. The cops appear to herd him toward the edge of the cliff, then when he is about to fall off they tazer him, and when he shrugs the tazer out of his arm, he then tries to get away and falls to his death. It's a prolonged fall and far more than 40ft once all the secondary falling and rolling is over. Not surprised he didn't live.

It's not very pleasant but he literally had nowhere to go. He should have been tazered long before he was imo.

Maybe we should vet porn stars before they are called porn stars for mental health.

Thing is most porn stars are nuts but very few would actually go out of their way to kill someone with a samurai sword.
