This is wrong. And it is not just me that thinks so but also the Office of Budget Responsibility set up by the Lib Dem Con government.
They accepted that the Labour plans for deficit reduction would do as it said on the tin - reduce the deficit by half in 4 years.
The OBJ believe that the Tory budget will increase unemployment sharply and reduce economic growth.
Both the Tories and Lib Dems are ideologically against what they consider to be a large state. They would prefer to see a lot of state services run by charities and voluntary groups. The current global recession gives these two parties a once in a lifetime opportunity together with copious scaremongering (we are like Greece etc) to implement their ideology.
