You may be correct, DJ. I don't profess to be versed in the minutiae of employment law.
However, that still only applies to players from the EU, and not to players from anywhere else (Africa, Latin America, Asia etc.)
But I take your point about the majority of PL club owners probably not caring a toss about the England national team, so they wouldn't want the system changed anyway: It's all about short-term moneymaking and "buying" success.
And given that for these same reasons the powers-that-be at the FA are unable/unwilling to institute any meaningful changes, I think we can safely expect **another** "44 years of hurt" in major tournaments.

I think the main problem with England was they were tired.
They should have had a week on the beach straight after the season ended, then gone to the world cup fresher.
The sooner we bring in a mid season break the better.

The ideal man for England must be Alan Shearer. His invaluable experience at Newcastle United means that he is well versed at dealing with:
a) deluded fans who think they support a team with a chance of winning anything, ever;
b) overpaid, mediocre footballers who think they are God's gift;
c) a corrupt and dysfunctional management structure.
Has anyone else got the credentials to match Big Al?

Yes Tevez and a few others don't look tired so far.
Apart from most of the England team, who do readers think have had a bad World Cup?.
To start you off.
Ronaldo
Torres
In the case of Torres he just does not look fit.

The next England manager should be English who has played footie at the top level and he should leave the overpaid strutting prima donnas alone and scour the lesser clubs for young players who can be moulded into a National side and keep them only for the National side. If they prove to be good enough then pay them a decent wage to retain them but leave the fucking Rooneys and the rest of the twatts to their overpaid Premier lifestyle. Cunts! Oops, that's wrong. I meant twatts, cunts are usefull.
Jurgen Klinsmann...........you may laugh but I think he'd be the perfect choice and bring that German efficiency to our game.
Wishful thinking (not getting Klinsmann but anyone bringing efficiency to our game. The Italians are renowned for defending but that didn't help England be a complete joke, defensively, in that Germany match.
We just need better players.

Agreed.
I'd give the job to Psycho... he's already looking after the under-21's, so he should know what emerging talent there is out there. Plus he's passionate about the game, and as English as a stick of Blackpool rock.
