Alex Higgins R.I.P.

This guy was a proper genius on the baize. And he was a proper entertainer. Stephen Hendry was probably the best all rounder, great at attacking and safety. While players like Steve Davis and John Higgins are known for their safety play. But Higgins was a born entertainer, totally changing the game and attacking everything. And he didn't to entertain, not like Ronnie O' Sullivan, who attacks because he gets so bored he just doesn't want to play and hates his life and wishes the ground just swallowed him up!

Alex was a masterclass a gem of a man who had his personal problems and struggled with his demons till the end. Will be sorely missed and condolences to his family. May he Rest in Peace.

Alex was one of 3 players who, in the 70's helped revive the sport, drag it out of the doldrums and transform it into the popular game it is today, the other two being Reardon & Spencer.

RIP Alex.

Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?

Alex will always be a legend in the world of snooker. No matter what demons he battled with throughout his time. He transformed the world of snooker into a new phase. A great man. A true genius. He'll be sorely missed.

Robbed of his career by the WPBSA, when he was banned for a year and had all his ranking points taken away.

What is snooker now? Filled with faceless, non-personalities who are so bland, a dull bastard like Steve Davis is looked on as being something of a character. How sad is that?
