Oh Rodders, it's full of principled people where there is time for minority views, where people know the difference between being brave and stupid, where bullies are despised, ridicule scorned...if it was full of people like Tatchell it would be a very interesting place .As it happens you wouldn't fit in ....so no danger for you or even from you...so float on by.

Peter is a right on campaigner for civil liberties, and I once had the honour of marching through the West End, from the BBFC offices in Soho Square to the Home Office with him to protest against censorship. Peter carried a banner of Tony Blair entitled Tony Bliar. We could do with more courageous individuals like him, because most people are apathetic, or too afraid ,or like the writer of this post homophobic.

Didnt he run a campaign of "outting" those who chose to keep their sexuality secret? sort of goes against his civil liberites crednetials when his willing to run roughshod over someones life because the way they live their life is different form his.

'Peter carried a banner of Tony Blair entitled Tony Bliar.'

Of course, that made a lot of differnce to things didn't it? Banner waving in London really helps bring down Governments or make them change their policies. Not.

I can't really think of anything Tatchell has done that has made a differnce to anything, other than him and others like him helping the Labour Party lose the 1983 election even more heavily than they otherwise would have done - thus giving Thatcher even more of a free reign to do anything she liked to the country during the 83-87 Parliament as there was even less of a credible Opposition to stop her.
