Hendrix 40 years RIP

Post by muswell »

Died 40 years ago today.
There's nothing I can about his talent if you've heard him you should understand.
Just read a letter from one of his officers in the army saying that he didn't take any notice of anything they said as all he thinks about is his guitar and that he should be thrown out. Could have been written by his agent.

I remember hearing the news that day. Janis Joplin went a few weeks later too.

Two absolute legends of rock & roll together.

Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?

Hendrix was a superb player but like Clapton the demi god status is a bit far feteched. Some great stuff but plenty of crap to wade through to find it.

If he had kept his mouth shut and just played he would have been up with the best of them, but, his idiotic ravings were just pure shyte, all brought about by his stupid addiction to drugs.
When I was in Jamaica 30 years ago all you could hear in the discos was this twatt and they treated him as a god fer fucks sake !
Guitarist, brill. Singer, fuckingcrap.
As far as I am concerned anybody who OD's is a waste of space and society is better off without them.

Hendrix didn't die of a drugs overdose. The only drugs in his system at the time of his death were alcohol and sleeping pills which caused him to vomit and he drowned.

There is a strong suspicion that he was murdered by his manager. When they got him to hospital his face and hair were covered in red wine, and his lungs were full of it. He basically drowned in wine. Is that likely I wonder? However, a dead rock star didn't amount to much for the police back then, so nothing was made of it. He was just seen as a dead, black American degenerate, no need to waste any valuable police time looking into the circumstances of his death.
