Long time Jim. I was using your old lights last week at Dan's for a nice shoot with Roxy Foxx. I see she did her hair for your shoot a few days later. Camera-wise I'm just using the EX1 as I've got one living at my house. Lost the use of the Z1 I had a while back. If you fancy shooting with a tape-less workflow, let me know. And I'm going to see if any company I know well enough to let me borrow one has got the 3D camera.

You said:
"tape-less workflow"

This phrase stikes terror into my heart! I am shooting some stuff on a Panasonic SD700 AVCHD 3 chip camera which is brilliant. But I back up the files on 3 seperate hard discs, cos I cas see problems in 10 years time when I am trying to locate , "Those old scenes" and getting, "oops where is that damn hard disc" or "Shit the disc has seized up!" That's the good thing about tape, easy to store and easier to find!

I know what you are saying Jim but even tapes de generate over time. Apparently I heard some explanation about the worlds gravitational pull and every year this affects the tape then I fell asle....!sleep!

We shoot in AVCHD & convert it to DV To store on tape to use on our site & discs etc, we keep the AVCHD files on the original SD card & it goes in box only to see the light when everything is HD (many years yet).
When you can pick up series 8 16GB SDHC cards for about ?20 which holds about 120 mins at full 1080p its a throw away price & a safe way to store your digital media.

Back to the 3D chat:

I cant say there is much in the pipeline that really excites me where 3D is concerned

Though I loved Avatar and Toy Story 3 I cant help but feel I wouldve enjoyed them as much in 2D. Case in point the Avatar DVD

Even Goerge lucas plans to re release the two trilogys of Star Wars in 3D fails to make me that excited.

Maybe I'm just old. May as well order the coffin now I think
