Fair enough David, it's your thread so yours is the only opinion that counts.
I can handle that.
Philip Green candidate for Hypocrite of the Year
Re: Philip Green candidate for Hypocrite of the Year
You said:"Green banked the biggest pay cheque in corporate history in 2005 when his Arcadia fashion business, which owns Topshop, paid a ?1.2bn dividend. The record-breaking payment was paid to his wife, Tina, who lives in Monaco and is the direct owner of Arcadia. As a result, no UK income tax was due. If this wizzo ploy hadn't been carried out, he would have had to pay about ?300 million in UK tax."
So perhaps you would remind us all, WHO WAS RUNNING THE COUNTRY AT THE TIME???????
Your beloved TONY BLAIR and his loveable bunch of "Caring" Socialists. Again I must ask, why didn't they tighten up the loopholes for the rich, because Blair was and still is a crook himself and was pals with all these crooked bastards:
That "Anti" New Labour rag, The Guardian, even offering a prize for a tax accountant to unravel Blairs crooked dealings........some Socialist! lol
Tell me about the miss deeds of the Coalition/ Clegg in about 5 years time, after the blocked toilet of 13 years of New Labour hypocritical shit has been finally cleared (The biggest turd blocking the U bend being John Prescott) and I might listen.

Jim
Perhaps you could do me the courtesy of actually reading my comments before attacking me, Jim.
You say

Again I must ask, why didn't they tighten up the loopholes for the rich, because Blair was and still is a crook himself and was pals with all these crooked bastards:"
For example near the top of the thread I put "And I am more than happy to accept that the Labour government were far from blameless in these areas. Just as the coalition government are not without blame either."
You refer to "your beloved TONY BLAIR". At least half a dozen times on this forum I have written that I would like to see Blair on trial at the Hague.
I repeat. Tax avoidance and tax evasion has been a big problem in both Labour and Tory governments and needs addressing. If you want to get your hatred of New Labour off your chest, that's fine. But don't totally misrepresent my views in doing so.
Cheers

"Fair enough David, it's your thread so yours is the only opinion that counts."
A rather childish riposte, Dick.
I have answered your question already so I merely provided a link to my original reply to the same question. If you disagree with me as you clearly do, that's fine, but I see no point in answering your same question over and over in the thread.
Cheers

And another thing..
"Tell me about the miss deeds of the Coalition/ Clegg in about 5 years time"
In the context of this thread i.e. Philip Green's appointment, this comment is stupid.
To appoint a billionaire tax avoider like Green to advise on government spending cuts, partly made necessary by people like himself using tax loopholes to avoid paying hundreds of millions is wrong.
It would be wrong under any government, Labour, Lib Dem/Con, whatever. You dont have to wait 5 years' time to decide whether it's wrong or not. Obviously...
Cheers
