When I was an immigration official back in the 70s we had instructions to refuse entry to Scientologists on the basis of a statement made in Parliament by the Minister of Health in 1968 that Scientology was an undesirable cult. They knew that that was pretty flimsy grounds and whenever we refused one they would send high powered lawyers down to browbeat our boss into reversing the decision. We gave up in the end.
