To make them smaller you will have to re-encode the files, reducing the bitrate.

Theres a bunch of video products that you can use that will do this for MP4/WMV, Even free ones, although they typically require a bit more technical skill.

I'm not sure what device your using to capture the video, but it will most likely give you a file that is high quality in either TS/MPEG2/MP4/WMV format.

You can take this file and re-encode it using another application to reduce the bitrate (filesize) so that its much smaller, before you upload it to the internet.

There are a bunch of free tools you can use to achieve this, i'll try and post some later if nobody responds.

This might do the job. I think you should avoid mov files if you can and do them in another format. Convert them from mov to wmv and see what the file size is like.



It's a long time since I've done any video conversion so I am am way out of touch,but I seem to recall mov gave a large file and WMV was much smaller.
