"the RPI and CPI do not represent any humans basket of goods or services. "
I will remember that when I next fill the car up and do a weekly shop. Thanks for the tip. I feel better about it already!

Slagging off Osborne again Yawn....fuck
I will leave you to twitter on.
The bottom line is that you obviously need to try and take account of inflation in understanding its impact on spending. Any divi knows that inflation has an observable impact on how far your spend goes.
As for your comment "If rising prices are an issue then instead of just "spending more" to keep up we should be getting more productive."
I will pass your advice onto George Osborne because based on today's figures the country has not become more productive (at best it is stagnant) and yet as you yourself trumpeted throughout the thread, "George Osbourne is increasing spending".
You can't have it all ways. He's really cocking it up, isnt he according to your good self? More spending, no growth.
I will leave you to contact Osborne and offer your advice to him, the OBJ, the Spectator, the bloke who runs the ConservativeHome website etc etc.
I am off to watch the footy.
Goodnight!

Blackpool 2 Man Utd 0 half time
Whatever your definition of productivity is, inflation growing quickly, unemployment growing to 2.5 million, huge youth unemployment, stagnant economy, consumer confidence going downhill, dreadful high street sales figures in December, this aint the way to go about it.
Come on Blackpool!!!

Not sure that is true I'm betting on a new election before the Olympics.
But then I'm an optimist.

Life is full of disappointments. I and many others should know. We lived through Thatcherism.
Never mind eh.
