Barcelona

Post by David Johnson »

Football as art. United were totally outclassed as every UK team would have been in this game.

There should be a recording of that game playing on a loop in the Hayward Gallery. Give that man, Messi, an arts council grant when he retires.

And on top of all that, there were only 3 players in the Barcelona team that they had paid any money of note for, in the last 10 years - Alves, Vila and Mascherano. All the rest of the team were largely home grown.

Eat ya heart out Man City.

Cheers

Man U were second class, and as long as Barcalona are around with a team like that the Mancs will never win another Champions League Final.

Barcelona were exceptional tonight but the 'best team in the world EVER'??? Only time will tell but there's always an overreaction when a good team wins a mojor trophy. There didnt seem to be the 'quality teams' this year, Shalke for example were a very poor side yet still got to the semis! Arsenal, who were woeful even beat Barcelona at the Emirates lest we forget! United were abject, one game too many as they say. If Barcelona can win two or three on the bounce then they will earn the plaudits until then they are just the latest European Cup winners. Worthy European champions in 2011 but no better than any other previous champions.

What a shame for Mr Purplenose. It's more about Fergie's ego than the fans or players.

Too true

Man U have a lot of re-building to do to get to the same level of team cohesion
Their midfield was made to look very ordinary

Still given Man U only make the final once at the end of the decade
1999,2008(1-0 defeat of Barcelona in the semi)

They've probably over achieved this year to even make the final so early
