Perhaps you could provide some link as to where you got this info from?

One of the reasons I ask is that:

1. You appear to be comparing apples and pears i.e. pensioners and asylum seekers. Wouldn't a better comparison be Fred and Freda Jones, unemployed with two kids, renting a house? Or their grown up son, Arthur Jones in a separate flat and unemployed, compared with a refugee?

2. Secondly in the example you use re. pensioners payments, you are using incorrect information anyway by giving the impression that a pensioner is getting a basic ?100 and that is it. What about pension credits, housing benefits, winter fuel allowance, carers allowance etc etc..

I certainly believe pensioners are not supported financially by the state in anywhere near the level they should be either by Tory or Labour governments, but I think your info is misleading.

Fuckwit, I would imagine the figure you give each tme for the British person is their subsistence money only (to live on, buy food, pay bills, etc), where as the figure for the foreigners you mention includes the average amount paid for subsistence, rent, and everything else combined.

The allowance for an asylum seeker to live on was, 4 years ago, ?33.00 a week. It is probably something like ?5.00 or ?10.00 more than that now.

Have a watch of this row between the right wing journalist Richard Littlejohn and a writer/journalist called Johann Hari. It is rightly pointed out that comments like the kind Littlejohn regularly makes are very misleading and push people to vote for the far-right:

Max, could you please try to explain to Jimbo that it is possible to have a debate with people who haven't the same views as you and give him some tips?

You seem to be a chap who is more than prepared to defend their views which is obviously an asset to the forum.

Unfortunately, Jimbo gets so worked up and stressed about people who disagree or even question his views, he can't seem to have a debate. He even ran off to another forum and tried to get support from other people to help him when nasty individuals like me posted views which were different to his.
