Do I say anywhere this story is not true?

What I find hilarious is the general attitude towards someone in the Labour party or a supporter of the Labour party being wealthy. It's the shock, horror, would you adam and eve it etc etc etc in the usual tabloids that winds up our more gullible BGAFD posters.

The bottom line is very straightforward.

I do not think that anywhere in the Lib Dem, Labour or Tory constitutions or manifestos of late states that it is not allowed for politicians or supporters to be wealthy.

If that wealth is obtained fairly ie. without tax evasion, tax avoidance, offshoring, using Asian sweatshops etc, I don't think any party has a particular problem.

From my point of view if that wealth is obtained by dodgy though not illegal measures, the relevant politicians irrespective of party, should be publicised and humiliated. If that wealth has been obtained illegally then said politician, irrespective of party, should be charged.

I have no problem with Mandelson having lots of money.
Good luck to him.
My only problem is how easy it was for his Brazilian boyfriend to get a visa to stay in the country. How come it is very easy for people with money to get round these laws.
If most people want to bring a non ec domicile partner to live with them in the UK they have to jump through hoops, or will it be a case of this man has a genuine Portugese passport. You know the ones that lots of Brazilian footballers seem to have.
