o/t : witch video camera

Hi! i want to buy a digital camcorder and a digital still camera to,eventually, start to make some adult video/photo
(amateur level).
but i would like to Have some advice from people who already have some technical expirience.
this is what i want to by, are they any good?

I am not technical but was always told that you need a 3 Chip camera for the quality.

The Sony Mini DVC - TRV900 is a popular choice. About 1500 quid. TM use this a lot, so if you like their picture quality...

The Rolls Royce (which is top line professional standard) is a Cannon at about 2500.

At the risk of this post turning into a number orgy, I recommend either the Sony PD150 or the Canon XL1. Both these are broadcast quality cameras used on a regular basis by both TV companies and some of our professional posters.
If you're only making video for your own pleasure, though, any single chip camera that'll give you 800,000 pixel resolution will be fine. Prices start at about ?600 for entry level models. Again, Sony or Canon make fine cameras in this price range.
For gawd's sake, though, don't go to the high street.
will save you on average ?100 on shop price.

Or for a laugh, why not just take a copy of royal reamers into
Dixons, and ask the sales staff to put it on a video player and then ask them, which camera they think was used.

As always what to buy is entirely related to what you want to do short term/long term. The impression you give in your post is that you are interested in getting into this but initially on an amateur level. If that is the case, unless you have pots of money it would be better not to go top of the range in case you get bored with it quickly - broadcast quality camcorders are 1500 plus. If you have no intentions of being the next Ben Dover (a lot of people have tried, failed etc) then a much cheaper camcorder would be absolutely fine for your requirement. MINI DV camcorders can provide excellent quality stuff viewed directly on a tele from the camcorder. Even on an amateur level some kind of DV IN/OUT facility is an important requirement if you want to edit your stuff on a PC. The IN gets it onto your PC, the OUT gets it back to the camcorder. If you wanted to, once your edited stuff is back on the camcorder you can copy it to videocassette for example.
Re. the camera. THe Sony F707 is an excellent camera with a fantastic lens. THere are problems, however, using the Sony F707 with studio flashlights for example because the F707 uses a pre-flash for its own internal flash. In short this means the studio flashlights are triggered at a different time from what the F707 is expecting.
is a very good source of very detailed technical reviews of different cameras including the F707. The forums within that website will allow you to look at user posts on the subject.
Lastly, if you are set on getting a Sony F707 camera it would make sense to get a Sony camcorder because the F707 uses SOny's proprietary storage system called memory sticks for saving the digital images. You can use the memory sticks on many of the Sony camcorders but not on any other company's.
