Have to agree. If its fit to eat, eat it.
Where on the menu now is oxtail, one of my favourites.
And lets eat more rabbit. So much tastier then chicken.

As for rabbit, I definitely agree. Prior to myxomatosis, my Grandad used to trap rabbits which were a plentiful supply of good, cheap food. Rabbit stew was one of my favourites. A lot of people I suspect would have a snobbish attitude to eating rabbit as some do with regard to horse meat. It is as if they are viewed as pets and therefore it is a big no no to eat them.
My experience of local butchers is that their food whilst in some cases is more expensive than supermarkets, tastes much better. A free range chicken from my local butcher is a different animal almost from some of the stuff available in supermarkets. Even better when you have local "Good Lifers" supplying meat to the butchers that they have left over from their self sufficiency drive.
Eggs I get from a neighbour who keeps a few chickens in their garden and they taste great.
