Oddly enough the original Goths were of course notable for their fair hair and light skins. And their most notable King Theoderic was not known for his love of loud music but was known for his generosity and tolerance in a time when both were in very short supply.

Trivia note: most famous recent Gothic descendant was the late Dapper Don himself - John Gotti - the man who did for the mafia what Ann Widdecombe does for Brit Porn.

Be yourself Autumn and never mind the bullshit - but I don't think you need any advice to do that!

Liz,
"Cool" in respect of what?
If you are referring to the above thread wherein you are blatantly attempting to corrupt the nost virtuous Autum, then I can only repeat my disgust at your lascivious behaviour and by way of recompense, go kick the cat (I should be so lucky)

I thought Llewellyn-Bowen owed his image more to the New Romantics albeit without the make-up (apart from a bit of foundation).

He nicked his shirts off Adam Ant when he got sent to the funny farm after going into that boozer last year with a shooter and shouting "your money or your life".

Now dont get me started on the dress sense of eighties pop/rock stars. Even the metal lot bought into the whole camp frilly shirt scene. You would have a hard job seperating Spandau Ballet from the metal lot. Every type of music was influenced by this camp extragant stupidity.

Now wheres my eye liner and lip gloss?

Chairman Miaow (Marcus Cat and Chairperson of The Board) is already on her fifth life due to her dependency on scotch and kittekat(they dont mix well, put some water down for her MA cats dont like Johnny Walker). Having said that I reckon her and Marcus make a good team. She is always sober so she makes an excellent book keeper (or book cooker). In fact my dog tells me that he received an email from Chairman Miaow this very evening and they discussed what they ought to do about thier respective owners drinking habits. I soon put a stop to that talk by mentioning to my dog that its only fifty quid to get his balls removed by the vet. His cheecky reply was "so what? I can get you mauled by a gang of Pitbulls for a tin of Chum". Bloody ingratitude. Thats all you get from pets. Marcus tell your cat to stop putting ideas into my dogs head - hes very suggestable you see and he holds cats in high esteem. He will kill another dog as soon as look at it but he is shit scared of cats.

Did they have music in the eighties I thought it was a fashion show?

The slide started with the 'fashion bands'Spanda ballet & Durex Durex-Duran Duran then those little those upstarts Def Leppard & Iron Maiden claimed they were the new 'Heavy Metal kings'replacing Deep Purple,Motorhead,Whitesnake & The Scorpions.Heavy Metal died in 1979.

rant over

Time for a little 'Blue oyster Cult'

cheers
