Milk
Milk
Just been watching the news about how some farmers are faced with taking very poor prices for their product or pouring it down the drain. It will not be poured down a drain as milk is one of the worst pollutants once it gets into the water system. Maybe it's time for the government to step in and start free milk for schools again. As far as I see it everybody benefits. Kids get free milk, farmers make a few more quid and the government could be seen to be doing something good.
Re: Milk
A good idea, except the government is hardly going to want to pay a decent price for a product they are going to give away for free to the schools.
Being married to a farmers daughter, I can sympathise with them getting the short end of the stick. They work far harder than most.

I don't know what age group you're from but I got free milk at primary school. I don't know which government was in charge and I don't really care. But in a world of supply and demand I doubt if a decent price would be paid but surely something is better than nothing.
