About Bandinelli

Post by soljARis »

I have just seen on the database that on some flick's file (i.e. "Onora il padre") is written "directed by Silvio Bandinelli as Frank Simon".
That is not correct, Frank Simon was used as a Bandinelli's aka only in his early works, when he was still working as a TV spots director as well. This means that only pre 1995 movies signed by Frank Simon have to be filed among Bandinelli's works.
Later on (since about 1997) the Frank Simon pseuonymous was adopted by Bandinelli's significant other, Monica Timperi, who is a director as wel. So all the late '90s - early 00's works that go by the name of Frank Simon do not belong to Bandinelli but to someone else.

By the way, after "Abuso di Potere", which is supposed to be his last politically themed porn flick, Bandinelli has decided to not use his real name to sign his works, anymore. His new nom-de-porn is now Marco Trevi, so all the new porn movies that are published right now with Marco Trevi as a director, are in fact Bandinelli's works.
But, the complicate things further more, in the past a young director from his group used this name as well, so anything from before 2003 directed by Marco Trevi is not Bandinelli's stuff.

Some people in the Italian porn world think that the director from Florence is a totally nut madman. From his record, I tend to agree.

Thanks. Since the master database is not searchable by director, could you point out specific films where the director given is wrong, if you spot them?

For instance, in the case of Nirvanal, 1998, is the Silvio Bandinelli part wrong or the Frank Simon part?
