I have just bought "Secr?taires sans culottes", the real original title of which is "Cette malicieuse Martine". I have a problem with the director's name, a Michel Jean, otherwise unknown, obviously an alias. Would anyone know who he is ? Akas for him abound : Pablo Juan Torena, Rudolf Krause and even, according to egafd, Simone Fischer ! None of these names rings a bell. They are all phoney. Just a wild guess : could it not be Jean Rollin, who used the alias "Michel Gentil" in some of his porn films ?
I had the same problem, a few months ago, with "J. Helbie", which, I suppose, is some kind of alias for JLB. I got no answer. I'll just have another try. Thanks a lot.

Where is the alias Rudolf Krause coming from? !confused!
I had not made that association so far.
I have a theory regarding the name Rudolf Krause (which I am reluctant to share until I get proof), but that theory would not sit well with Michel Jean's largely French filmography.
Anyway, I am pretty sure that it is not Jean Rollin. That would not make sense.
Another possibility is that it is a generic name, used for those French collaborations with RIBU, i.e. that there are different people hiding behind this name.

Re: Michel Jean
I should have searched egafd before posting. !blush! Apparently, the name Rudolf Krause has been used in Spain for the releases of several films.
I am certain that most of these films were made by different people. Rudolf Krause only served as a generic name there.
The one film I was thinking of is Die munteren Sexspiele unserer Nachbarn, because even German sources give Rudolf Krause as director. I am sure this is a pseudonym. But I don't think this is the same as Michel Jean either.

Re: Michel Jean
Is it certain that Michel Jean is a pseudonym for different people? Because I think the films credited to him are of the same high quality and have a similar style (at least the ones I've seen). That would be hard to achieve with multiple directors at work.
