But I thought lizards were cold blooded. Any self respecting reptile would have a sunbed for use in such emergencies. Does your central heating use water or tea to fill the radiators?

Lizards are NOT 'cold-blooded'.......that term no longer has any useful meaning.
The old physiological distinction was between 'poikilotherms', whose body-temperature varies with that of the environment, and 'homoiotherms' (the so-called 'warm-blooded' groups such as Mammals, which can to a greater or lesser extent regulate their internal temperature).
These labels were superseded, respectively, by 'heterotherm' and 'homotherm', for much the same groupings, for reasons I could never fully appreciate........like most classifications, the new version is only general.....for example, species of
large tuna are 'warm-blooded' (though incapable of significantly regulating their body-temperature range much beyond the ambient), whereas several genera of ('cold-blooded') desert-living lizards adjust their body-temperature daily through a range of some 30 degrees Celsius.
Confused?
You bet...............time for a cuppa, I suspect......

No incubators, alas, but now that Fluffy, the 13 Mrs Fluffies, and all the kids have moved out, I DO have a few nice tanks to spare.........
.....if you don't mind a bit of slightly-rotting pondweed.
