O/T - deep psychological problems

Post by joe king »

The phenomenon is 'on-camera erection problems'.
What causes it?
What is 'an attitude of mind'? Men have the pressure of obtaining and retaining an erection. The 'failure' of this required state is seen as a negative (not very useful for penetrative sex either).

Is it a mental state or a hormone/body state?
Can hypnosis be used to 'cure' the 'problem'?

Needless to say - I have never had sex on camera.
I don't feel a deep urge to have sex on camera.
My interest is in the performance psychology.

I would imagine it's something along the same lines as stage fright. However well prepared you are, when it comes down to performing in front of an audience, sometimes you just can't rise to the occasion (from Wrob's Big Book Of Crashingly Obvious Puns, pg 94).

From my experience and having beared witness to failed moments in porn (including my own). Lack of hard ons or stage fright is attributed mainly to wannabe porn stars who haven't grasped the realities of making porn until that moment ie A man who wants to become a porn star solely to fuck 'pretty girls' finds he is being filmed by a man with a camera and suddenly can not perform for fear of being watched by another man, being distracted by his own insecurities and the like and the other most common enemy of hard ons and general performance is stress, pressure, bad nights sleep, lack of food etc when a normally reliable chap becomes not so reliable.

Advice: Eat well, get a good nights rest and don't wank before an all out prize fight, unless of course you have a super high sex drive and can fuck like a mad man in a rain storm then a wank is good to keep in shape.

To quote Mark Davis interview in some recent mag (Yes, I actually read the articles too). To be a porn star is not something to be taken lightly. This is a serious business. A prerequisite for consideration of new male talent is you have to be an exhibitionist, you must have very few sexual hang ups ie the presence of another male in the room should not put you off nor, should I hasten to add should you rub another mans rhubarb- totally unnecessary comment there but I've always wanted to say that somewhere since Jack Nicholson said it in Bat Man with a big fat rictus grin on his face...The psychology behind all this, the man should believe in himself abnd his own abilities, even if he is nervous all you have to remember is...

"Someone is paying me to have sex with this gorgeous girl".

If you can't do this. DON'T EVEN CONSIDER A CAREER IN PORN!
