Il Nonno (2001)

Post by Len801 »

A couple of things must be said with relation to the information already contained in the EGAFD database:
(1) The VMD French-dubbed version (at least the VHS print I saw some years back) was of average quality, with lots of blueish tint that really detracted from enjoyment of the movie, and picture was not particularly sharp. And of course, for some inexplicable reason, there is the Atomix scenes missing.
(2) The Goldlight German-language version is not only complete, but the picture is sharp, and with rich colors.
(3) The Laetitia Atomix scene comes right after the Renata Rey sex scene in the car. Atomic is paired with Horst Baron.
(4) The grandfather (the "nonno" of the movie title) is played by Giulio Massimini, who has had a lengthy legit stage, TV, and movie career (see below)

and had the role of a general in the porn movie NAPOLEON (1996) directed by Luca Damiano (his name has been mentioned in the cast of that movie in EGAFD).

And it gets weirder and weirder....
The 105 minute Goldlight version seems to come to an end at the very end of the last sex scene with Jessica Fiorentino, while the VMD French version continues on for another couple of minutes, showing Jessica Fiorentino bidding good-bye to her grandfather, and some indication that she will drop by again next year for more sexual encounters:
Is there a problem with the Goldlight edition, or my copy just ends that way?
(Footnote: The grandfather's name does not appear on screen, but the Italian video box cover lists a certain "Giulio Valentin" which must be the pseudonim given or used by Giulio Massimini to mask his hard-core involvement in this movie].

Thanks Julio. It confirms the presence of Giulio. But what I just recently learned was that he appeared in several Italian mainstream comedies.
But what I am presetly trying to resolve is the differences between the French VMD and German Goldight versions. I assumed the Goldlight version to be more complete, but now it seems (at least in the version I saw) it may be missing a minute or two at the end when Jessica Fiorentino leaves her grandfather's villa to return home to her parents (see the two screencaps I put up in my post, which came from the VMD Frencg version).
Can someone confirm whether the Goldlight version does or does not contain the "good-bye" scene between Giulio and Jessica?

Thanks very mch for checking Julio.
So both versions are basically fucked up, and for inexplicable reasons.
VMD cut out the Atomix scene and [/i]Goldlight decided to remove 1-2 minute of non-sex at the end of the movie, which leaves things in suspense as to what Jessica Fiorentino will do with her life.
Which leaves us with the question: what does the Italian version contain?
