Newcomers to the forum no doubt want to find out if 'whoever' has or hasn't done h/c. Some are not sure of the in's'n'out's of the forum and the site as a whole. This is obviously tiresome for some of the 'senior' forumites. I think it would be better if n/comers were helped if they need it and not pilloried and patronised. A little more slack perhaps eh?

Fair point. Though on the other hand we do state quite clearly under the submit post button - "If you are asking a question, try a quick search of the forum to see if the answer has already been provided."

This is one question that is very easy to find an answer to with just a quick search.
