The problem with that though Marmaduke, is that with the microscopic budgets porn filmmakers have at their disposal, they do not have the financial means to recreate a saloon, a western town, the costumes and the various props to make the settings in any way faintly realistic.
Just look at the various movies made in the last 20-30 years, set in modern times, and set in a disco or bar. 97% of the time the commercal "bar" is not set in a real bar, but a corner home bar located in the corner of a large mansion, with a couple of stools, and an actor that pretends is a barman, with hardly a patron in the place. That's what you get.
The money just isn't there to do a half-hearted hard core western, in today's economic times.

Sadly, Len801, you may be right or it could be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Shoe-string budget, lousy film, low sales, marginal profit; and round again and again.

On the other hand Marc Dorcel invests in his films. He has some great sets with lots of pretty girls doing unmentionable things in places like aeroplane cabins for goodness sakes! Seems he's making money. !wink!

If Dorcel did a 'western' porno we'd have the added anachronism of wall-to-wall

VMD is apparently not in great financial shape. Last I heard Dorcel was solliciting "investors" to "finance" his next film (I have no clue what became of this project). Passing the hat does not definitely inspire confidence.
VMD was in the 1980's and 1990's a producer and distrubtor of their own content. Then they started distributing other studios' stuff, and putting condoms in all their scenes. They are so rabid about not revealing condom use, that they censor private parts in their DVD back covers with silly red wiggly lines. Very sad turnaround fore one of the first (if not the first) video hc porn producers in France.

My opinion on condom-usage [and the spurious 'health' logic on which it is
supposedly based] is well known, so we won't dwell.....
but it was my understanding that the trend in France [bucked only by a few
ruggedly independent souls] toward, um, 'blanket coverage' was at the behest
of influential French sat-TV outfits [i.e. driven by money]. As is usual with
virtual monopolies they don't apparently feel the need to justify such idiocies
with inconveniences like facts and reason.

So, the stage is set for a condom-less VMD imitator. Investors will appear if they think they can get a decent return.

I'm a little surprised that one hasn't thus far appeared- although I suspect the
start-up costs are prohibitive, and the nature of the industry tends to make it
'unwelcoming' [occasionally, physically so] for newcomers.
The tragedy is, VMD almost got it dead right with the high-class tarts/lingerie/
locations schtick [although they could spend a bit more on brighter lighting] but
blew it by refusing to stand their ground against the condomistas [a battle they
could IMO have won].

An interesting Western parody is Um Pistoleiro Chamado Papaco from 1986 but it is also effectively a 'porn parody', rather funny than sexy.
