Storie di ordinaria follia

Post by Len801 »

Please take note that Horst Bosch is Jay Lassiter

While the box cover of the Colmax French-dubbed version indicates the title
as PRISONNIERES DU VICE,

the screen credit (in VHS version) shows a slightly different title:
LA PRISONNIERE DU VICE. The latter appears displayed and edited in right
underneath the Italian title.

Moreover Colmax for some odd reason did not dub the movie completely
and you can actually hear from time to time small snatches of Italian dialogue
during the sex scenes.

Thanks.

I note that iafd have 'Marco Trevi' [and Frank Simon and Silvio Bandinelli]
listed as an alias of Monica Timperi. Would you happen to know of any
substantive evidence for this?

Of what I know Frank Simon is an alias of Sivlio Bandinelli.
I have read that Bandinelli also uses the alias of Marco Trevi.
And to further confuse matters even more he has often collaborated with wife Monica Timperi,
and they interchange names for their films, so that you have no clue who made/directed what.

With regards to Storie di ordinaria follia, all I know is that the
screen credits indicate director as "Marco Trevi" and it was photographed by
Antonio Adamo and Alex Martini.

Well, Bandinelli and Timperi certainly seem to be different persons.
Perhaps the latter has used the former's name as an occasional alias.

Monica Timperi and husband Silvio Bandinelli are real producing/directing team
Of what I read on the web some time back, on certain occasions Timperi also directed
some of the movies they collaborated on, but she has not signed them under her name, and used Bandinelli's
name or other aliases (Simon, Trevi).
Last I heard they sold their production company Showtime around 2008-2009 and they set up a legal business
in Spain. They have a daughter who would be about 12 years old now.

See the following link:

in which you see a photo of Timperi, and in which it is explained
that Timperi usually shot/directed/produced movies under the pseudonym of
"Frank Simon" but under the guidance and supervision of Bandinelli.

Trevi seems to have been an alias used by Bandinelli probably after he sold
his interest in Showtime.

This is why it is confusing as to what Timperi really directed on her own, or simply acting
as assistant director, or shooting things under her husband's "supervision".

OK.
We'll probably leave things much as they are now; if they want to play silly
onomastic games that's their problem. That's the trouble with people who
[usually, wholly incorrectly] think they're producing 'porn as art'- they feel
entitled to buy into all that pretentious auteur bullshit.
Pity there's no 'Alan Smithee' trope in porn : -)

IAFD's listing of aliases for Timperi is rather confusing if not misleading.
She is not TTS, nor really Bandinelli.
Bandinelli is the creative person behind the Bandinelli-Timperi collaboration.
He writes the scripts, directs, produces. Timperi may have in the past directed
some of the films using the alias of "Frank Simon" with perhaps a couple of exceptions.
But even then, the "supervision" of such Timperi directorial involvement was done
by Bandinelli. What Timperi's real artistic-directorial contribution was is hard to
analyze or fathom by us on the outside.
Later on Bandinelli began to use the alias of Marco Trevi and also started to work
in collaboration with Matteo Swaitz (now you will more clearly understand
the "TTS" you see in some recent movies released by Showtime).

I agree, it's confusing.

Since there's no way of knowing which one exactly directed under each alias
[although I agree about Timperi probably working 'under supervision'] it
seems safer to leave things as per each film's credits.

I believe you should probably indicate in this movie page (in parenthesis) that Marco Trwevi
is Silvio Bandinelli. It is more than likely than he is person directing behind that pseudonym,
after he sold off the Showtime production company. That is what is generally reported in the media.
If you are to believe what they themselves are saying is that Timperi has generally
used the name of "Frank Simon" when she has directed movies under Bandinelli's "supervision".
