O/T Sat channels

Do any of you good folks out there know which is the best Sat channel for english Films.
Not the cr*p on Sky but the other channels. I have (lucky sod) a spare motorised dish and am thinking of getting a digital decoder for Hot Bird (you techs know what I mean). What reciever's are the best, which channels and which are the most reliable dealers?

A Humax receiver model VACI-5300 is a good one to receive the programmes you want SCT or UltraBlueTV, both on Hotbird. SCT shows majority of Italian films, but have also shown such as Omar Williams (Big Willy). UltraBlueTV shows anal, G/G, Gay, bondage/fetish depending on the day. Most is American, but has broadcast Ben Dover films, plus some other UK made films. You can get a SCT card direct from SCT in London UK, UltraBlueTV you can get from MediaSat in London. Both companies accept switch or cheques, you will be looking at about ?170 - ?200 for a card for twelve months viewing hope this helps you.

Spice Platinum has the hardcore versions of Adult Channel shows, but not many full length British features, although 'The Statesman's Wife' and 'Heels and Hose The Movie' (Sammy-Jayne) have been on recently.

If you look at their web site you'll see that they have a good selection of European and US material, with the balance recently shifting towards the Euro stuff.

Thanks for the name check benspal. I wish whizz would use the search to save me repeating myself. Whizz try using the words "hotbird satellite platinum sexview ultrablue" in the search and select message bodies and all dates.

I agree with the above poster that Humax recievers are good. My model is the CI 5100 wich has two common interface slots to allow the flexibility to view various types of encryption by plugging the correct CAM into one of the slots where as some models have built in CAMs geared to one type of encryption only. If its only Hotbird you want then your dish need not be motorised simply point it at 13 degrees east and away you go.

In the fullness of time I shall write a begginers guide to explain it all but the two problems I face are trying to explain it all without confusing people and also technology and channels change so fast its impossible for my guide to remain up to date for long (unless I email the mods with additions/corrections every month). The most recent development is something called a magic module which is a CAM covering all encryptions and therefor taking any card to give ultimate choice and flexibility but for the mainstream channels its not necessary.

BTW a 12 month sub for Spice Platinum is ?99. Ultrablue is ?129 and Sexview is ?159 (Sexview Plus is the same price but contains the harder stuff ie fisting, pissing dwarves etc or so I am told).

Of the 4/5 channels available none show very much british material. I have an ultrablue subscription and they have shown about half a dozen Ben Dover movies and a couple of other british movies in the last 4 months. One advantage of UltraBlue and Sex View is that they show very few repeats whereas Spice Platinum seem to repeat the same movie 3/4 times a month going on their website programming list, however they do appear to show the most in terms of UK content. One disadvantage of Spice Platinum is that it is encryped in Irdeto format only which differs from all the other available adult channels which are encrypted in both Irdeto and Viaccess formats. Spice Platinum generally transmits each show/film twice in one month on its first showing. There will then be occasional repeats in later months.
