Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up

Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
Actually Magoo, it was the summer of 1976 that sparked off the riot in Brixton. It was a long and hot summer and the police were getting snotty and arsey and in one collective movement, the good people of Brixton seemed to stand up and say at the same time 'We've had enough and were gonna say so now!' I always remember the image of the old bill lined up looking like a conga dance. The inner city riots of 1981 were probably what you were referring too which involved Toxteth and Bristol
Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
Incidently, the song White Riot by the Clash was about the Brixton riots
Re: O/t Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
Yes, it really pisses me off when people who are caught bang to rights doing something horrible come out with the "I was abused as a child" and "Watching porno videos made me do it" bullshit. What makes me even angrier is that dogma driven, hand wringing, lower middleclass social worker twats encourage this delusion in the useless scumbags that fall back on this excuse, thus enabling them to avid the pain of guilt.
A recent case where this cropped up was where an eighteen year old youth had been captured after a series of attacks on lone schoolgirls - he would drag them into the woods and, if not rape them, he would sexually assault them. Anyhow, come the trial he, predictably nowadays, trotted out the " Porn videos made me do it" bollocks. Happily, he got convicted and then it emerged that he was a fuckin' Iraqi asylum seeker abusing our fucking hospitality and that we couldn't send him back after he had served his sentence because Saddam might hurt him! Personally, after what he had done - and try to imagine if it was your daughter, sister or mother - I wouldn't feel the slightest bit uncomfortable at anything Saddam might have in store for him.
But to get back to the point. These excuses they trot out are total bullshit. They are what their defence layers - quite rightly, as it's their job - have told the lowlife scumbags to say. It's their only recourse since they do not have any other proper justification for what they have done. Unfortunately, this kind of thing indirectly impacts on ordinary porn video fans as it provides an excellent weapon to the enemies of fuck and suck to gleefully call for bans and restrictions.
So down with stupidity, hypocrisy, bullshit and bollocks and let's have the simple truth wether some folks find it uncomfortable or not.
Officer Dibble.

Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
I think you will find there was another riot in Brixton in adout 80/81 ish which was sparked by an elderely black woman dropping dead during a police raid on her home (they were after her son). I seem to remember Handsworth in Birmingham also went up in flames aswell as Bristol and Toxteth. Actually if memory serves me right while the nation sat watching the royal wedding on tv there were riots going on in various areas.
Re: O/t Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
Its the media that associates porn with sex crime not the lawyers/judiciary. A typical headline might say "Sex Abuser Had Porn Video Stash". This of course fails to mention that hundreds of decent people also have porn collections. One day we might see the headline "Hero Who Saved Orphans From Blaze Has A Big Porn Stash And We The Gutter Press Think Thats Ok".
These hand wringers you refer to Dibble. Are they Guardian readers and social workers exclusively?

Re: O/t Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
Regarding the hand wringers Magoo. Yes, more or less it's just Guardian readers and social workers - the lower middle classes, non-manual working public sector employees. The sort of earnest, po-faced miserable bastards who turn their noses up at commerce and anything that's fun. But of course there will always be exception to this general rule.
But I can speak from experience - in a previous existence when I used to get up at 5AM (the horror, the horror) to catch the bus to go to work bricklaying on a canal maintenance scheme, none of my then workmates on that miserable enterprise ever threw their hands up in despair and uttered the refrain - "Oh, I'm really, really concerned about the Palestinians, I was up all night worrying. And that awful, militaristic, Mr Sharon!" If they had they would have been unceremoniously dunked in the canal after well deserved slapping and told to "Shut up yer poncy twat, we're only interested in cars, drinking, footy and totty! You been watching that fucking Channel 4 News again, with John Snow?" Though I normally abhor philistinism I would have been right behind my comrades on issues like these.
Oh, and I didn?t say that the judiciary associated porn with rape, violence or any other horrors. I just indicated that this is what defence councils cynically tell their clients to say if there is no other possible excuse for what they have done. You?re correct in stating that it is the shitty, moronic tabloid press that do the associating as it reads well with the hard of thinking.

Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
Yes, you are right Magoo, I thought your original post was about the original riot of 1976.
Re: Disturbing Crush videos - follow up
I am not old enough to remember the original 76 riot Ace. Then there was also Broadwater Farm in Tottenham in about 83 where that poor policeman got murdered - he was a nice bloke from what people tell me (his sons live in my area) and unfortunately he was attacked merely because of the uniform he had on. The scum that killed him did not see him as a fellow human but as a representative of the racists that he worked with/for and as a representative of the state. Tragic waste of a life fuelled by ignorance and hatred from both sides of the camp.
And BTW I loved The Clash. Thier tracks keep cropping up on Peter Taylor documentaries like the recent True Spies and the one he did about the SAS killing those terrorists at the Iranian embassy in 1982. All in all the 80`s was an interesting decade with the miners strike, cold war, Falklands and riots etc. Great music aswell if you forget about Wham!

If you like the 'only band that mattered' you might be intrested to know that Mick Jones (Guitarist) joined Joe Strummer (Vocalist) on stage in Acton on Friday night for the first time in 19 years for the firemens benefit. Played 3 Clash songs including White Riot and, inevitably, Londons Burning.
