Yep, I had fooled around a bit at the "doctor"

to learn that "Tanechka" is a "DIMINUTIVE OF: Tatyana"
and as it is widely known that "Tanya" is the short-version of "Tatyana"... it all
fits in the end.

This "Helper" actually does not explain very much, but it is the only thing I know that
enables you to write in russian with a "regular" keyboard:

The whole Cyrillic thing is a minefield... every time I post something I expect
showers of abuse from purists or agendists.
4WIW the style adopted here is not the one I personally use - for ex. I
would render 'Evgenij' as 'Yevgen(i)y'. And with 'e' I always like to see the
original to avoid mistransliteration where a diacritic may have been overlooked
[as in the common solecism 'Gorbachev' for 'Gorbachov' - and in both of which
I'd personally prefer to see the final vowel preceded by a 'y', for clarity].

... trouble started as soon as a name or its spelling was not originally-russian...
And the many "variations" of names they use!

Official short-form: "Nastja" alright... but... also "three official" diminutives are useable:
