Site problems

Post by alec »

Some may have noticed that the site has been down a couple of times in the last few days. Essentially the hard disc on the server needs to be tidied up and, until this can be done, it isn't safe to add new stuff.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's better if we can keep the database available than have the site go down.

So I'm afraid that's another reason to hold back on the new info.

For my own 'classical' researches, I've just created a 'pending' file so that I know what needs to be added.

Do you mean:

a) we shouldn't post new infos, because they maybe get lost, or

b) we can post new infos, but you will not put it into the db at the moment?

I'm not going to put them into the database at the moment.

I'm not sure whether it could end up as part of the forum being lost, but if you post new information, please keep a backup of what you have posted on your own computer.

Thanks.

Hi Deezer!
To me it says:

1. Posts are not likely making it to the db.

2. The waning security of the "Server" is another reason to hold back
new entries.
=> A stable "Server" would not make -Point One- obsolete!

Income from sponsors, e.g. clicking on a link on a film's page and buying the DVD from the sponsor's site. Sponsors also have banners on the site, e.g on the left sidebar.

Problem 2 has now been solved. :) :)

But, although jj has now been heard from, he is likely to be away for the next few weeks, having suffered a relapse; so the original reason for holding back on info remains.

Thanks for your co-operation - and for the good wishes to jj.

Hi Alec!
Thank you so much for this Information....
... Even if it is very unpleasant to hear how massively JJ must be suffering !glum!

Honestly speaking; as you stated to be also unaware of what is going on/where
he is... that made me feel very uneasy....

I hope he has left the worst behind and will be better with each passing day!
!happy!

Thanks!
