Is there anyone out there able to shed some light on the Rodox legend 'King Dong', star of a number of Color Climax photoshoots in the early eighties?
Rumours would indicate that his monster dick was the result of shoddy special effects, rather then mother nature. Porno playing cards in tacky Spanish tourist traps, and Amsterdam sex shop windows still feature footage of this shoot today; which in my humble opion makes this an iconic image worthy of further investigation. Some people claim he was British, although it's so far been very difficult to confirm. In fact getting any information has proved impossible. I'm after information for a book project I'm working on, and would be happy to credit anyone who provides information, when the first edition is published. I'm grateful for any clues on this, and thank you for your help in advance.

You will find a clip of him in 'action' from the film Sex Freaks on this DVD compilation of Tabu trailers -
He is briefly mentioned on pages 99-100 of Babylon Blue by David Flint, Creation Books, 1999, but there's a little more detail on Long Dong Silver.
The latter is also mentioned in the index to Come Play With Me: The Life and Films of Mary Millington, Fab Press, 1999, though the page reference may be wrong. It's worth looking at this and at Simon Sheridan's other book, Keeping the British End Up, Reynolds & Hearn, 2001.

Re: O/T: Seeking Information re: King Dong
Any chance of a list of relative books in Miscellany by people in/or about the british industry ?
Re: O/T: Seeking Information re: King Dong
this is something that has been discussed but not prioritised - only 24hrs in the day, etc. if anyone would care to propose titles and/or reviews, they would be most welcome. in fact, we'd like to see more suggestions/contributions for the miscellany section, of whatever nature. don't be shy, people.

......I vaguely recall a 90s doc. (on Davey Boy, I think), in which the KD briefly appeared- I have the impression that he was from a London Council estate, and that his subsequent fate was not all that good.
A 'technician' also appeared, and showed exactly how the prosthesis had been manufactured, if that's ant help.

Re: O/T: Seeking Information re: King Dong
Yes it was false. It was made by Christopher Tucker. The guy who did John Hurt for Elephant Man and indeed Zena Fulsom, Mandie Mountjoy and the other one for Double D Productions.

Thanks for the help on this one. I find it interesting that the images from one photoshoot, which probably lasted no more then a few hours (and the bulk of that time would have been taken up attaching the flasie) have stayed in the public domain for two decades. You can't go to a sex shop in Europe without having Mr Dong's phallus forced into your face, if you'll excuse the inappropiate turn of phrase) Must be because it buys into long established racial stereotypes I guess.
In the world of porn, where most images are disposable, it's strange that this curio has become such an iconic image. Cheers.
