Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me what the deal is with MSM and Yahoo groups. Are they free? Are they a any good? Is it worth signing up?

As to wether Yahoo is better than MSN depends on what you want from a group

If its large quality pics I'd choose MSN
Most groups will make you wait to join.

If its variety and numbers of groups I'd choose Yahoo
See the miscellaneous section on the left or visit
care of Group Listings

Overall Yahoo has a better setup especially when it comes to the forum section

They are both crap. The biggest problem is that they force you to use tiny file sizes, so invariably the pictures are reduced versions of the originals. Reduced in both size and quality.

It now costs very little to set up your own web site, so why not do that? Using a free program like Composer (comes with Netscape) you could make a basic site in a couple of hours.

Fair view George.....but don't dismiss the groups altogether
because of the pics

The Forums are a wealth of information worth reading i have found on a whole

Just seeking & finding pics really is numbing after a while
Conversation with a fellow human being can never be underestimated

I get pix daily from Yahoo Groups by email. The size is fine & I have DLed a bunch, plus moving many to my Yahoo album. I get more pix than I can keep up w/ actually.Finding the groups is a bit tricky nowadays, & you have to wait for your initial group email from Yahoo to arrive, but once you get your foot in the door, you can use as many addies as you wish, & joining is a breeze. You also get cross-postings that have invites to other groups. This is in the U.S. I might add.Oh-one group uses FTP, which is a bit over my head as of yet.

Fair point. It's what they do to pictures that I object to.

I wasn't myself when I posted....was somewhere between 1 & 2 bottles of Perth Pink.

The other excellent thing about yahoo groups is the links page
I've found oodles of excellent links...not just other MSN or Yahoo groups
