Hiya people has anyone else had problems receiving & sending e-mails with hotmail accounts, since microsoft upgraded hotmail last week? As I have had delays messages from hotmail when sending e-mails, and people sending me e-mails that I still havent received!
I hope they sort this out soon, there are some good new features in the upgraded hotmail service (such as the free 250mb e-mail account - a lot better than 1mb!), but its no good when you have problems sending and receiving e-mails!

Yes, I agree. I've had problems with it.

The new service is a pain in the arse... If I try to go from the Inbox to any other. It keeps frezzing and I have to shut my browser down by doing:
Control> Alt>Delete
I then have to log in again and go straight to the other folder and hope for the best

Re: Upgraded Hotmail Service Problems!
The problems you encounter I am also frequently getting at work, Joe. There they have Internet explorer 5.5 and 6.0
At home I use windows 2000 which comes with IE5.0 and have not had a single problem with that. Seems like the newer versions of internet explorer are just invented to waste more space on your hard drive and take more control over your computer with little added benefit for the user. Those who use XP probably are not able to use an older version of IE, but those who stuck to a proper operating system like windows 2000 can always uninstall the new versions and revert to 5.0 which seems fine to me.
For general browsing and downloading I use Opera 6.01 because its so useful. IE only opens with hotmail when I click on the e-mail link from MSN messenger.

Stephen... I'm on XP Pro without SP2 due to it causing the blue screen of death the last time I downloaded it. I had to buy a new hd the next day as it was totrally f***ked

Re: Upgraded Hotmail Service Problems!
makes me wonder whats in all these service packs. Just about everyone I know who installed SP2 on XP had to reformat the machine and revert to normal XP.
I got XP in 2001 but hated its "teletubbie" interface and "let me do that for you, but lets do it the way microsoft want you to do it" attitude that takes control away from the user right from the start. After a day of trying to cope with it, I went back to windows 2000 and stuck with it since. Nothing XP has to offer interests me enough to try it again, in fact it seems like more trouble than its worth.
There are many people out there who just use XP simply because its the latest version, when they could probably do everything they need to do using Windows98SE which is far more stable. In addition they would have less disc space wasted, and the machine would run faster as less memory is used. In this case XP is putting them at a disadvantage from the start.

Re: Upgraded Hotmail Service Problems!
I've never "up-graded" from my initial 98SE. Last year I sent my laptop back to my reseller for a larger HD to be fitted and it was their advice to stay with my original OS.
