Yes, I have looked at this and, unless anyone else has a better solution, you'll have to re-edit your footage in NTSC format, then recompile a fresh MPEG file and re-author the DVD from scratch. Or, play your edited PAL movie through a high quality PAL/NTSC converter back onto your computer, then once again recompile the relevant MPEG files and re-author a fresh DVD disc with the NTSC footage.

Unless you expect to sell loads, or a US distributor has agreed to take it on, it's not going to be cost effective - you can't spend a couple of days running through the above process (at a professional cost of at least ?400.00) just to sell three copies of the movie for $20.00 each.

Maybe the best solution would be to say 'Hey, look. We've got these movies but they are in PAL format, so ensure your equipment can handle a PAL signal (just like over here, where 90% of players and TV?s will happily display an NTSC signal in all is glory.

Yeah you won't have any problems with the US and Pal format. My sister has lived over there for 10 years and dual format TV's and Videos were readily available and cheap even then. And all DVD's nowadays are dual format and if they are older and arent you can just get a code from the internet that makes it multi region. I'll be amazed if there are more than 5% of DVD players in the US that arent multi region and as i say they can easily be converted

yeah I know however the point I was trying to make was that having a multi region DVD player or a region hack would not necessarily make a PAL DVD play on an NTSC system or vice versa
