Why are Job Centres now re-branded as Job Centre Plus ... plus what ????

Maybe they're giving out grants for camcorders and forcing girls on their books to do porno if they meet the requirements ... two legs, two arms and a nice tracksuit !

Also if you notice, all Job Centre Plus offices have security officers on the door - I'm not sure if this is to stop you getting in or to prevent the ones inside getting back out.

In German Jobcentres they do actually advertise for sex industry staff, because it was found be law to be discriminatory not to let sex clubs and bars use the state service, since they pay taxes like anyone else. But a strange upshot is the authorities could technically require a girl meeting the requirements to take one of these jobs or cut off her benefits ... although the authorities assure people they would use discretion, but I'm not sure Germans have much of that.

The reason that they stopped doing it is the very reason that you stated about german ones is that somebody could have their bebefits stopped if they refused to apply for the job.
