The question is the market a producer is aiming for.

At the moment most UK product is looked down on in the States. Very few UK companies make really high quality films. In the States what takes 3/4 hrs here to shoot, takes half the time. Pay more get better productions and UK films will gain a better hold of the US market, therefore increasing profitability.

A few of the newer UK companies are paying more and the end product is far better than has been seen here for years. Of course there will always be producers and models who will produce a film for less cost but it will soon start to show by the quality of the end product and how it sells. DollTheater and Robs films have been major sellers this year, why.. Originality and Quality.. I know that the problem in the UK is the finance compared to the States but instead of making 3 average films, producers should make one very good one..

My first shoot was supposedly to be done "no charge" - that was the agreement - a certain Mr Mason - being the first guy willing to give me a chance gave me a few quid for my trouble! Much appreciated - a foot on the ladder and soemthing to show for it... sadly it didn't materialise into much... I thought it might - it didn't.

I did work for a couple of websites - some I got a few quid for, some I didn't...

I started out about the same time as Jayce...

I never had a set rate, I was happy to take what was on offer... when I first kicked off I was happy with ?50 per day... in time I ended up with between ?100 and ?250 per day...

YES... I genuinely think that the guys ACTUALLY have a harder time of it than the girls... but, how many guys WANT to be in this game compared to the girls willing to do it....?

I never had a problem playing second fiddle to the girls - as one or two quite rightly say - its the girls the punters wanna see... us guys are just "renta-cocks"...

Some guys are better than others - I was forever UNDER-EMPLOYED - that speaks volumes... I didn't moan about my rates, yes, I found it disappointing that I'd be overlooked despite believing I'd delivered the goods - but looking at my reviews on BGAFD (most recently The Brits Are Cumming #1 and #2) - I guess it's clear I wasn't as good as I beleived I was... but hey - if I refused to take a shoot at a certain price - there'd be dozens of others willing to take it.... but in the end I was just an also ran and happy to take what was on offer I suppose...

The girls are the be all and end all behind this industry- the guys are just "cocks" - regardless of how good they are... some are better than others and YES, that DOES contribute to the end product - but providing the film has "the girl" - it'll still shift copy....

We may of both started at the same time...
And maybe i may of had a few more lucky breaks than you...
But still i have now a minimum rate plus there are certain things i don't do now.
Like gang bangs... I have done them but now i leave those sort of shoots to guys who want to be pornstars...
Guys have to start somewhere and if you can to Gang bangs and perform well on those shoots you gota a start.....
But the amount of guys that email asking to get them into porn is getting stupid and i don't reply to them....

Firstly, what defines a "professional' Rob? Money the people backing you? Or that you are one of this years flavours? Or a guy who has been in business over 10 years and produced over 1,000 mins of adult entertainment for TVX and two 90mins films - Let's get one thing straight I am not an amateur and to say so shows your blind ignorance regardless of what you may say now or ever...

Surely you have heard of, or understand the term 'market forces' Rob? Then apply it to people selling their porn DVD's in the UK... Now maybe you are making a fortune through your products which is fantastic for you! Great! There are many smaller producers trying to sell their films and not even being offered a fraction of what it has cost them to produce. These people would never get a chance to work at the higher rates. It has nothing to do with extra money in your back pocket? I am sure you can say this because you are not in a position at the moment where you are scrapping by, if you had no wages or had to use your own money to finance these films I am sure your tune would change! I admire in some ways what you are saying but realistically making or sounding off with grand gestures about increasing wages is a pretty huge clue that this is not your money you are throwing around but Hot Rod Productions...

If I had the amount of money where ever the likes of Relish financed there films or had Hot Rods Etc., then I would blow away the US markets - Why because I know how to make imaginative, hot and creative adult erotica! People who have seen what I have done with the peanuts from TVX per episode know I am more than capable. Doing a porno film is not easy but then again it isn't hard for God's sake.. So long as it is lit well, you have good looking and desireable ladies and guys in front of the camera fucking you cannot go wrong! One of the major aspects is getting great performances from the players in the scene and choosing great looking girls that can fuck and enjoy themselves doing it or at least act like they are, again with a decent budget you would be able to pick and choose who you would have to star in the movie and of course you'd reward the models for the work they done depending on merit, acts performed etc., As for the studs, again you would scout for guys that can do the work and meet the requirements for the role in the movie what ever they may be, and pay them accordingly if they perform well etc.,

However, landing back on terra firma I guess as I said I will be paying the rates given to me by the model I am interested in using or by the agency and I shall either agree to go with those rates or not...

For the others who haven't employed Jayce yet.. Do it.. I've met him numerous times socially, and earlier this year he worked on a shoot at my place for Tas, and he has to be complimented first hand by me.

Roger there is a big difference when shooting for TVX or any tv company to producing a product that needs to sell in the States to make money. Out of interest apart from appearing in your own films, as I don't know much about you, have you worked for many of the other companies as a stud ? That isn't a put down but a genuine question as I only know of your tv productions.

Also, you and others at least agree that the consumers pay to see the girls. Therefore that makes them worth the extra money where possible, if the end product which as Rob says can cost as little as ?500 makes for extra sales and could break the US market.

To the other new studs.. It's been suggested that if possible you finance your own short vid.. It can be done and when you have that, you can send it out to everyone. Unlike the girls who start by working for the likes of me doing solo/toys and who then move on and their progress is seen by all. Males have no other way of getting seen and known in the straight market place.

Wrong! Joe A - you ever worked for or sent in shows to satellite TV companies?
They can be bloody stringent bastards about all aspects of your work - If it's not right you have to pay to shoot it again or fix it... It can be very expensive indeed if you mess up... I guess you are a film expert too? I have seen alot of US product lately and again it doesn't phase me as a producer/director. Top of the chain is the finance after that you can get and acheive = Stunning Girls Up for it! / Locations / Lighting / Make-up / Studs that can do the work / Great Cameramen / Decent editing / added stuff depending like Decent Sound tracks & Effects, props, stunts, 3D effects and SFX...skies the limit it depends on what cash you have to work with (I return to my previous points about not having a budget or very little budget).

This is really acheiveable if you know how to do it - the trick is marketing and making it different for the US market to sit up and take note. Pissing, slapping, cum swapping, spitting, creampies or what ever may not be it... You can see that in shed loads over there anyway! I believe there's one new sick crazed site where girls blow their noses on each others faces and licking /eating it off (yyiissh!)
