We could debate this all day and I supose it's how an individual interprets the law but I stand by what I first stated that I believe it to be illegal to sell R18 Dvd's by mail order but not to send them through the post.
I suppose unless somebody asks a solicitor for clarification then we may never know for sure.

Re: Royal Mail / BBFC
The case at Maidstone Crown court bought by customs was an old 19th century law that they dug up and has never been repelled and it states that customs have the right to confiscate any goods brought into the country that they consider to be indecent, indecent being a lot easier to prove than obcene, and the Judge who precided over this case apparently did comment how ludicrious it was that you can legaly purchase R18s in the UK but cannot bring them into the country if a customs officer decides that they are indecent but the Judge had to go with the law and find in favour of the customs.
Re: Royal Mail / BBFC
One point I would make to your post is that customs used this law to confiscate films of R18 strength coming into the country i.e. they were posted abroad.
Would the same be true if R18 stuff was posted internally from within this country via our postal system??
That's my point. I don't believe it's illegal to send them through the Royal Mail but as I said we could probably debate this forever with alot of different people having different opinions.
