A Worrying Trend

Post by Officer Dibble »

There may be forumites out there that think Officer Dibble is maybe a little paranoid and eccentric to continually suggest that today?s models are just not as appealing, attractive or sexy as those from previous generations. It gives me little pleasure in this instance to highlight an article in tonight?s edition of my local rag, that confirms, by scientific measurement, that which I feared to be true.

?MODELS ARE BECOMING LESS SHAPELY

Researchers have been studying Playboy centrefolds in the name of science, and to look at trends in the typical bodies of models.

The body measurements of 577 Playboy centrefolds were taken from the issues dating from 1953 ? 2001.

The study concluded that over time centrefold models are becoming less shapely and more androgynous ? that is, that the characteristic differences between men and women are becoming less pronounced.

Researchers took each model's height weight, bust, waist and hip measurements. From this they calculated each woman?s body mass index, their waist, hip ratio and waist bust ratio to produce and ?androgyny index?.

The bust size and hip size of models generally decreased while the waist size increased, according to the study in this week?s Christmas issue of the British Medical Journal.

The typical body mass index of Playboy centrefolds is now below the average.

The researchers, at universities in Canada and Austria, concluded that the trends were at odds with claims that centrefolds body shapes were still more ?hourglass? than ?stick insect?.

Martin Voracek, a research resident at the University of Vienna Medical School, in Austria, had to measure every curve and contour of hundreds of top models, including Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra and Jenny McCarthy.

He was helped in the task by the study?s co-author Maryanne Fisher at York University in Toronto, Canada.?

I have pointed out many times that today?s models were leaning toward an ?androgynous? look and that this has had, is having and will continue to have, negative consequences for the adult entertainment industry ? I best spell out the implications for the hard of thinking - As girls become more like guys (in attitude as well as looks) then guys will of course cease to fancy them and not be all that inclined to see them in the buff. This is already happening of course ? Top shelf mags are in decline, porno vids are getting hard work to shift, rumbling and rumours from sat TV. Recently on the forum we had a sat TV guy trying to drum up some enthusiasm for his ?new presenters? Yes I thought, with a metaphorical yawn, they look quite pretty in a not overly sophisticated ?S Club 7? kind of way, but, er, where are the tits ?n? bums that make guys go ?Phwoaaar!??

I think you've probably stunned everyone into silence, Dibble - but why not have first crack.

Your thesis is crap - sorry mate, but there you go. I'm a member of Scoreland.com and there are very few if any girls you could call "anyandrogynous? there (except perhaps for a tiny minority of Babyface models.

What is true of course is that you can get very bored with porn. At the end of the day (and a long time before too), the real thing is best, of course. And I have just won tonight's star prize for stating the bleeding obvious.

As for your "local rag" - spill the beans. The Evening Herald here in Plymouth wouldn't carry that story - which enlightened paper are you reading?

Botton line,Dibble, I think you're bored with porn. The girls are largely as gorgeous as ever, again - we're used from digging years ago to find previously softcore models doing nasty hardcore. The fact that loads of great British girls now do very hardcore obviously makes things less exciting than the days you picked up a Private Magazine in Amsterdam and saw, for example, Heather Chittenden or Andrea Clarke doing the business.

It's now time for my cocoa and this exertion has tired out an old-timer like me.

I still go "phwoaar" over girls like Alicia Rhodes, Layla-Jade, Fleur Rose, Adele and many more.

No Dibbsey,

Not eccentric at all. I too long for a return to the days of a rounded lady with child-bearing hips. After all men are geneticaly programed to pick a woman that will be capable of bearing and feeding sprogs. Kate Winslett -v- Kate Moss ????

My genes tell me to shag Winslett as she has a healthy plump figure and is more likely to carry my genes into the next generation than a skinny rake who will mis-carry at the drop of a hat. These are obviously crap examples but just ask Prof. Robbie Winston. He will tell you I am right.

Gentlemen please. It pains me to read this but again you are perfectly within your rights to vent your personal displeasures on such subjects as the female form.

All I have to say is, going by Dibbles article, is the type of model being given airplay is reflective of that persons particular taste, ie: Playboy magazine. Porn has always been about putting women on a pedestal to admire even for onanistic purposes. (Fuck me onanism- thats a big word). The type of women we choose to get our rocks off and jollies over are all subjective to the individual- even magazine editors who influence a majority of male tastes.

The real reason as any producer on this forum can testify to why porn is sloping off is merely due to market saturation of product and not necessarily due to the quality of girls on the product. To quote: Viewers Wives and other amateur productions of that ilk are doing very well compared to the more commercial product simply because it appeals to the majority of the buying public who crave it. I'm sure Escort and Razzle way outsell Club and Mens World for that same reason.

C'mon Officer, no offence but maybe you are more nostalgic for the girls of yesteryear because that was when you were more carefree and less jaded and more enthusiastic about porn. You are at an age now where you've seen it, done it and bought the t-shirt. Who knows in 10 years, there will be another Officer Dibble reminiscing the days gone by over girls like Layla, Wendy and Rebekah...

Personally, I think there is more variety for everybody and we've never had it so good. Do I have to name drop fit birds like Kelle Marie, Adele Stephens, Tamara Noon, Tera Patrick, Arianna Giovanni...Oh my god, that hungarian bird Sandy!!!!What a really round butt she has! Fwoar! Pass the Kleenex or what!

Oh yes, we've never had it so good and so much of it too.

Have a good one everybody

Well Richard, I would be surprised if there were many androgynous looking ladies over at Scoreland as it?s a specialist big boob site, part owned I believe by big boob king ? John Graham. What we are taking about here are documented trends over a number of years in probably the most celebrated glamour mag ever.

I?d agree that you can to some degree you can ?get bored with porn? Now I?ve got a warehouse full I never watch it except in a professional capacity. But I fear my diminishing appetite is due two factors ? the one that you are scoffing at and my advancing years. When I do go to choose a shag video I am always drawn to 80?s and early nineties one?s featuring gorgeous Monroesque babes with big tits ?n? bums and tiny waists. ?But that?s simply your taste? I hear you say. ? No quite, I have been involved in the retail sector of the adult entertainment industry for some years now ? So I know what adult movie buyers, as a whole, like and I guess you?ll not be surprised to lean that basically it all boils down to big tits ?n? bums.

If your suggesting that I made the whole thing up I can only say that?s simply not the case. The industry guys that know me know I don?t talk bollocks. Indeed nowadays they occasionally come to me for advice and I?m one of the few left running viable adult movie outfits because I?m not a dreamer and I know my stuff and I speak with authority on these matters. But I?m afraid I?ll not be ?spilling the beans? about my local rag for security reasons, as I?m sure more enlightened forum members like magoo will well understand. However, it is a big city rag, not a town rag that carries stories of kittens stuck up trees. Anyhow, I believe the local rag article mentioned the British Medial Journal ? which is I guess the most famous and highly respected medical journal in the land. So, if there are any medial types out there maybe they have the Crimbo issue and they can confirm or deny whether it is a real article. Or maybe the Journal has a website and it?s mentioned on there?

Regarding current porn girls. I?m afraid there?s currently not much out there for me to work up much enthusiasm now ? I had most of the best contenders round at my gaff the other day for an agreeable photo shoot or three - although speaking of Heather Chittenden we dug out one of her old reels for inclusion in a new catalogue and I thought ?Cor, what a horny bitch, she?s right up my street!? I went on to wistfully ponder what it might be like shagging her, which is something I rarely do nowadays with new girls. So what?s Heather got that they ain?t?

You may have touched on a relevant point when you suggested that it?s less exciting now that loads of British girls do hardcore. It is less exciting because it?s routine. There?s no sexual tension or excitement in most of the current couplings, they?re just going through the motions. It appears as routine to them as brushing their hair. Tell you what, forget about ?porn stars? they may have been a big thing in the past when stars really were stars and had an aura of mystique, excitement and glamour about them. Now to say someone is ?a porn star? cuts no ice at all, because they don?t have those qualities. It?s far more stimulating if you can find a really gorgeous stunner that will do a normal straight shagging scene on rare occasions. That?s always worth seeing. Or indeed a nice, normal, girl next door type, the sort your mum would approve of, who probably works in The Halifax or similar. Seeing her shagging would be exciting, beacuse it would be real, she would be real.

Your local rag appears to be the bloody British Medical Journal, no less (or possibly the Evening Standard!). After posting here and visited the Babe Report on www.bomis.com where I found mention of the academic study.

And, I kid you not, look at www.bmj.com, then look at current issue and you will find a very academic article about the changing proportions of Playboy models down the years.

So, sorry I was a doubting Thomas, Dibble.

I need a lie down - I think I've seen it all now.

Yo Tel! What are you doing up at this ungodly hour?

Yes, market saturation is indeed one of the factors, but if I were a normal punter and not a porn weary insider, they'd be no girls (in the UK) who currently do shagging movies that would make me actually want to rush out to buy one. Although I might be interested in seeing one or two that don't currently shag on video. Howver, before I became an 'insider' I did buy stuff just because they had girls like Victoria Paris, Tracy Adams, Christy Canyon, Misty McCain and Angela Summers in them.

Always have a soft spot (or even a hard spot) for Kellemarie and that Aria Giovanni sort is certainly my type of bird. And I'm constantly working on getting any of the others you mention in front of my 'Cannon'.

Quite frankly big tits, tight asses, small waists are all well and good BUT in the end its the face that attracts the most attention IMO

If it were only about Big Tits & Big Asses then why are the likes of Nadia getting all the attention?
